By that I assume you mean he has accomplished less than Richt, who won 2 SEC titles in his first five seasons, and faced a hump of peak Saban and Meyer in the middle to latter part of his UGA tenure.  Harbaugh has not so much as won a division title in college (notwithstanding the 2013 Super Bowl).  Richt came within a five yards of beating Bama and facing an overmatched ND team in 2012 for the national title. Harbaugh has a lot of winning to do before he catches Richt’s accomplishments at UGA.

"Richt came within a five yards of beating Bama and facing an overmatched ND team in 2012 for the national title."

HAHA Oh so youre using "Almosts" to prop up Richt but you cant do it for Harbaugh?

Harbaugh came within one flukey spot of beating OSU and going to the Playoffs

Harbaugh came within a couple plays of winning the Super Bowl

See we can do the Almosts for Harbaugh as well

Again, how many times has Harbaugh played in a single conference championship game?

How many conference titles has he won in his time in college?

Beating OSU in 2016 would have led to a the Big Ten Championship game birth NOT a playoff birth.

The only reason the spot mattered was that Meyer chose not to kick a chipshot FG.

There's a scene in the movie "Patton" where the German intelligence officer describes Patton as "an anachronism."  The same applies to Richt -- from all I understand, he's a genuinely good man who tries to run a clean program and do what's right by each player.  That doesn't work in the rarified air of Georgia or Miami football.

I hope Richt finds a place where he can coach his brand of football, shape young men who play there, and provide fans of that team some measure of success.

All Salvatore can do is criticize by name calling. Ever notice that? Someone doesn't completely worship Harbaugh, and Salvatore comes a knocking with schoolchild insults.

I thought this was a board of UM alums (LOL) with oodles of degrees and maturity and all that stuff.

Careful, some people are very sensitive when you talk about their one and only leader Harbaugh. Watch.

I've watched this program since the 70s, nothings really changed. I still support them and go to the games but nothings changed. Same same, hardly ever win any big game, beat up on the the little guys. Just is Michigan football,

Just a guess - but I'd think he's done with football as a whole.  IMO, he looked disinterested for much of the year (and that rubbed off on his team).  That Pinstripe Bowl was a full-on disaster from the Miami POV.  Richt may be looking to do something completely different life-wise.

If I'm Miami, Greg Schiano would be #1 on my list.

After the outrage at Tennessee when they tried to hire Schiano, I just can't see that happening at Miami. It would basically be saying they're a step or two below. I predict it's Rutgers or a G5 HC job for him a year from now. If they're looking for someone with a bad experience with Tennessee, Lane Kiffin would be available. He's kind of an anti-Richt too.

Obviously this decision was a surprise or Manny Diaz would have been in the mix.

Ya know, I always liked Richt. Seems like a good guy and is a good coach. Always looked like he didn’t seem to want to embrace the dirtiness of the SEC. This led him to a 9-4 abyss. Hope his health is well.
