I went to Michigan vs PSU back in 2010(?) and it was their White-Out. That place was ridiculously loud and fun to be at. Their tailgating is pretty solid, as well.

At this point, most PSU fans were white to EVERY home game (or Bowl Game, or Indianapolis in 2016). Been that way for a decade.
All an "official" white-out does is allow an event that was originally organic in nature to now be monetized. Somebody, after all, is making money on those $32 (!!!) t-shirts.
