Looks like Tate first
Track my sophisticated logical progression here.

Tate is the likely starter.
Not shocking, and all 3 may play but, if correct...count me happy. He is my weapon of choice.

That he will play more than the other two, not that he will play first.
I think you're probably right (oh, please, dear Angry Michigan BLANK Hating God, let it be so), but I'll wait for confirmation before I get my hopes too high.

Agreed
More snaps = more Tate.
More snaps may, or may not, mean first Tate.
I still think we see a nod to *gulp* Death first

Maybe it means that Tate needs work. (I keed, I keed!)

I'll buy into the formula, and think that with everything we have heard through out Spring and Fall, it is still his position to lose. I love his accuracy and the additional speed he brings to the position from what we had last year, so all that is left to say is... Let's get it on!!!
24 hours until college football starts. Whaahooo!

I'll feel much better watching Tate start on Saturday. Also looking forward to Robinson breaking a big run.

I remember how excited I was when freshman McGuffie started the first game against Utah, and how it all turned out.
I am playing jedi mind tricks on myself to keep me from getting too pumped up.

I think it is safe to say talent wise Tate is light years ahead of Sheridan and you can expect him to perform a lot better than Nick did last year.
As far as the McGuffie thing....I might be the only one but you have to remember the only reason Sam started was due to injury.
Tate will have a much better chance to succeed than McGuffie ever did last year. The O Line knows the system and blocking assignments this year and the backs are healthy (except Minor as usual)and ready to go.
I'm more interested in what the D is gonna look like. Mainly I wanna see how our DB's are in pass coverage this year. I'm hoping no more 15 yds off the ball on 3rd and 5 this year!

unless they mean that he isn't here anymore and that makes him a bust. But 700 yards of offense and two 100 yard games, despite being injured so often, for a freshman is pretty damn good IMO

It's always bugged me too. I think he could have, and hopefully still will be a special talent. And he's white! j/k

Good. Who wants to go with the "safe pick"? Not me.
September 2nd, 2009 at 5:51 PM ^
Please, Jesus, let it be so.
September 2nd, 2009 at 5:55 PM ^
Sure hope so. I have never subscribed to the "start Sheridan first because Tate will be too nervous" theories.
If RR did that, what happens if Sheridan is playing well? What would it do to the confidence of Tate (You're our best QB and will play most of the game, but Sheridan is starting)?
This is not Tate's first rodeo. It is his first college rodeo but, if he is not ready to start in the Big House, I would be concerned.

I'd love to see Sheridan start the game just to "see" the exploding heads around here.
September 2nd, 2009 at 8:20 PM ^
The secondary will give us plenty to explode about. I get no joy from 8 under center.

Please pray that this is true, I really hope he starts.
