Their mid-level opponents were slightly higher ranked, but their wins against top level opponents were tighter.

I think if Michigan plays this same schedule Washington had I think you would expect:

Similar results, (Close game, hard to say) with

Texas and Oregon

Bigger wins against:

Arizona, OSU, Utah (they were without their QB), USC, Arizona St., Stanford

Similar results (Blowouts) against

Boise, Cal, and Tulsa.

We both played MSU so that's a fair comparison, though it is their superbowl when they play us so that says something about something as well.
