It still looks upside down to me budday! :) Breathe...relax! Edit: I guess I'm just expressing my opinion, when the people only want the cold hard facts! As far as I'm concerned, the S could be on it's side as long as we make a bowl this year.

Haha, I didn't say they should change it based solely on my opinion. I just don't like what the font does to the S (since it makes it look a little awkward to me). I give up. It's fine, long live art deco font! Note to self: Don't cross art deco font.

The S is NOT upside down. It is oriented exactly as it was on the press box, these being the letters that faced the street not the field. Yes, it would have been nice to have found a more prominent spot for them, but it is not incorrectly oriented. It's the nature of this particular art deco font, as discussed in the (currently) first 18 comments of the link you posted.

Look at the other letters that have horizontal elements in the middle: the H and the G in Michigan and the A in both Michigan and Stadium. The "midpoint" of the letter is very close to the bottom in those letters, just as it is in the S. The letters are correctly oriented. EDIT: sorry--I see this was already discussed to death on another thread.

I heard that the lettering will be made up of advertisements, and that each letter will blast a different RAWK anthem at various points during the game.

How about a circle of honor? Think of all the times somebody around here says "Why doesn't anyone ever wear #11? WTF?" or "what number did Gerald Ford wear, anyway??" On the other hand, think of all the great players who have NOT had their numbers retired for obvious enough reasons. This is a way to still honor them as Wolverines. Several pro teams, such as the Leafs and Cowboys, do not retire numbers frequently but instead honor their greats in the stadium. We could do the same.

they're going to put the entire lyrics to Don't Stop Believing wrapping around the entire stadium. They were going to do Lose Yourself but Eminem wants that to go in the new Crisler remodel. In Yost they're just going to wrap curse words around the entire concourse.

Where/when are the speakers going to be installed? Upgrade from those 1980's-era BOSE speakers on the old press box? And the eagle that was on one corner? Where will it go? Will a dupe be made, one for each building? Or triplets? One for each tower? And how about two more sets of "MICHIGAN STADIUM?" One each for the east and west buildings? Maybe a bit larger, so they don't get dwarfed by the edifices themselves.

Not sure about where the old "Michigan Stadium" sign is located. Is this permanent? Seems like a good museum piece.

that some of the letters, perhaps the ones that faced the field if the ones that are already up are the ones that faced the street, would be put in an arc over one of the main gates to the stadium.
