Latest CB trends

For the easily confused that would be crystal balls, not cornerbacks.

The good: Filiaga trending hard to UM. Up to 94% with about a dozen this week. This one appears to be wrapped up. Najee is up to 70% UM, although none of the heavy hitters are weighing in because..no one really knows.

The bad: Run of Florida CBs for Slaton. He did not mention us in his favorites. He gone. Willie Gay trending LSU based on his comments of almost committing. Still some chatter that he is a UM silent and is having fun. Not holding my breath.

The interesting: OSU trending for the #1 JUCO CB. (That would be corner back, not crystal ball). That's a lot of top rated corners they are bringing in.

Isn't that also the case with Gay?  He was a Michigan lean before it became apparent that he wouldn't quialify based on his grades.  Or am I mistaken?

I don't think you can put a crystal ball  in for a team, once a recruit commits there.   Since NH is a verbal commit to Bama, if some is 95% sure that the choice is Bama or UM, they're going to put in for UM or not vote.

New Crystal Balls really seem to be meaningless at this point.

The CB that is most interesting to me is that Maryland is flipping a 5 star OT. Ryan "Money" Bartow has a prediction on that. I want Michigan to be flipping a 5 star OT! Gives me a little hope that it can be done by signing day. Still a lot of time for Jimmy to work something out.

I believe Slaton has said Michigan isn't an option due to grades.

247 Sports has accuracy ratings for all of the recruting analysts who make picks. For instance, here is Mgoblogs own Ace Anbender's page:

http://247sports.com/User/Ace%20Anbender/Predictions?PlayerInstitution.PrimaryPlayerSport.Recruitment.Year=2017&PlayerInstitution.PrimaryPlayerSport.Sport=Football

So he's 83.02% in the year of 2017. So, you can search whoever makes the CB picks and check out their success %'s. Hope this helps.

We get Filiaga, we get Becton...after that. Who the hell knows?

Collins could've committed forever ago. I say we go back after Oliver Martin and whoever wants to pull the trigger first gets the spot.

Hebert and Samuals are gone

grabbing Filiaga and Becton address the OL

gets us back to 26 in the class

then go for:

a RB

NT

and any other good 5, 4 or high 3-star talent

players like Gay, Bateman, Eno Benjamin, Ellis Brooks, etc.

Filiaga, Ruiz, Becton, Stueber, Hall and Honigford really fills out the OL for 2017-2020/21

2018 OL

T - Filiaga

G - Onwenu

C - Ruiz

G/T - Bredeson

with the rest competing to fill in the last spot

all from the first 2 Harbaugh classes

some of those guys will take time to develop and perhaps be 5th year seniors down the road

we don't HAVE to take 31/32 this year - taking 26-28 allows us to not be so constrained next season and balance out the class size

2017 OL can end up with:

T - Filiaga and Bredeson

G - Onwenu and Ruiz

C - Cole - Ruiz could learn first hand how he makes the calls
