Last play was from under center . . .

Maybe we should try that more often :)

On a separate note, does anyone know the nature of Fitz's injury?  Assuming he's not out long-term, he solidified his hold on the RB spot simply by his absence.  (Nothing in the foregoing should be read as a knock against Vincent Smith, who is FUCKING AWESOME and I apologize for every criticism I ever leveled against him).

Yeah, I was wondering about Fitz myself all night as well... anyone know what happened with him?  There is no way in helll we should need him next week (EMU), but I think we'll need him beyond that.

Not sure where to post this, but Vincent Smith and Jeremy Gallon, two guys who take some criticism on this board came up HUGE tonight. And BWC drew a big holding call on ND. Lots of different guys stepping up tonight. McColgan's reception was also a nice play. It's nice to be able to run some shotgun and some I-form to give the defenses some different looks.

The fact he was under center allowed this play to work all the better.  The percentage play was to center it for a FG.  This made the CB more sleepy perhaps.

Borges' play calling can be lame but when taken as a whole...it's pretty awesome.  He had some amazing calls in this game.  The throw back to Vincent for the TD was epic.  It's not like Smith didn't make a few moves but ... dang!

I also liked Denard's keeper - catching the LBs keying on the RB.  That one had to hurt given the ND defensive gameplan and last year.

I didn't think it could get better than 2009.  Wrong.
