Larry Brown resigns at SMU
Thought this was noteworthy since we might play them again in the 2K Sports Classic this year in MSG

Crazy that he thought he rated 5 years with the NCAA breathing down their necks -- does LB think he was at a SEC school or something?
Not like anything was going on in Dallas today Larry.

That isn't very fair. Brown, apparently, was not planning on publicly announcing his resignation just yet, but it was leaked out, and at that point he confirmed it to a reporter. He didn't call a press conference. I don't think you can accuse him of trying to steal the spotlight.

Let's see who's dumb enough to hire him first.
He's a 2-3 year coach, tops. Wears out his welcome shortly after that, regardless of where he goes.
Apparently he wanted a "long term deal" and they offered only thru 2020. Given his age that IS a long term deal.
wanting a long term deal knowing full well he wouldn't get it is a really super way for him to get an excuse to leave another college basketball program he's put on NCAA sanctions
Let's be honest. When you approach his age, buying green bananas is a long-term deal.
Well in the wake of this if they find any dead hookers...
Craig James would be a person of interest.

There are probably a million young asst coaches making like $40k working 80 hour weeks who deserve the job long before this guy does. Just retire already.
eevryone and has everyone on speed dial. What sort of cachet does Brown bring,to 17 yo kids? I used to be a NBA coach..yeah, maybe but mostly he's just an old fart that needs to retire.
A NBA team would have to be insane to hire him at this point. There are a bunch of NBA owners who fit that bill though.
Glad he is gone from Michigan area for good.
