Lambeau asks for B10 CG
The Green Bay Packers have asked the BigTen to consider Lambeau Field for the BigTen championship game. That might be interesting if a blizzard hit...
I would support a rotating location for the championship game that includes Lambeau Field with all of its history and culture.
Edit: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/ncaa/07/16/big.ten.title…
I would also prefer a rotating championship game venue, whether it is Ford field, Lucas Oil Stadium, the Cleveland Browns stadium, Soldier Field, or Lambeau field.
no domes...no domes....no domes
Paul Brown Stadium, I'd love that, cause it's not more than a swallows flight from my house
May Detroit have the football championship
Brought up yesterday.

Maybe ESPN is faster than SI.
be right.
I really would prefer the game played outside. I hate college football played inside.
It is not possible to hate college football but your right.... much prefer it to be outdoors
Sign me up for that road trip.
The media attention that would be paid to a Big Ten Championship there would be huge!
Please please please - B10 Championship at Lambeau field would be all kinds of awesome. Soldier field would do nicely too.
Why would we use pro stadiums when there are four B10 college stadiums (Big House, PSU, OSU, Whisky) that are larger than any NFL stadium???
Would the words "liquor sales" have anything to do with it????
An outdoor game in December would require anti-freeze. Sign me up!
A game at PSU would have all the problems of a game at Lambeau times 3. Very difficult to get to, very, very limited accomodations, potential weather problems. I'm sure the night life is fine but not a lot of options for higher rollers. Lincoln would actually be far better than Penn St (Omaha's additional hotel rooms are less than an hour away and the transportation connections are far easier) and I don't think anyone's suggesting that.
I keep reading this on Mgoblog and wonder how much more accessible a stadium needs to be other than having a 4 lane highway drop you right into the parking lot? Seriously, I-99 was built specifically to get rich alums/politicians in an out of Beaver Stadium quickly.

Hotels right in town might be thin, but within 45 minutes there is plenty.
Won't happen though. I'm a bit over an hour from the stadium, so this could never happen. It would just be too convenient to me.
I was mainly thinking about flying. Especially as the Big 10's eastern most outpost, you'd have to think that a huge % of people, especially from the western division's representative, would be arriving by plane. And Penn State's airport is even smaller than Green Bay's.
And PSU's a long ass drive from anywhere else in the conference. Lambeau at least is reasonably drivable for the western schools. It's 3-4 hours from Chicago, about 5 from MSP, 6 from Iowa City. 7 from Ann Arbor and Lansing, which is still in the realm of the possible. Columbus and Ann Arbor are actually the only Big 10 cities closer to Penn State than Green Bay and in the case of Ann Arbor, it's about a half-hour difference.
But yeah, I think conference stadia are a non-starter at any rate.
Lucas Oil would be perfect. Its such a nice stadium and when that roof is open, it really gives you the outdoor feel. I've been to plenty of stadiums and thats by far my favorite!
Also, Indianapolis really does a nice job on hosting College championship tournaments and games.
As is a lambeau defenders here:

I'll be shocked if it's held at an outdoor site. It wouldn't make any sense for the conference to forbid night games in November (out of concern for the comfort of spectators) and then have the conference title game, which won't be played any earlier than 3:30, outdoors in December.
3 yards and a cloud of dust football, not the spread option. I feel like December in Lambeau is just asking for a foot of snow for your most important game, and I while I love extreme weather football games I'd hate to see the most important game of conference play riddled with turnovers. Once Michigan makes the championship game in 2011, would you really want to wager on a Spread or a Pro style offense winning that game?
