Karma
(my computer deleted this as I was about to post, this is 2nd effort)
Well I'll start by saying it of course feels good to see the men in maize and blue lift the jug.
There are many words and phrases (cyclical, yin-yang, law of averages) for it but I chose a common one Karma. As a fan of this team and watching football for many years, I've seen some heartbreaking games and endings. I've also seen some exhilarating ones.
As a kid, I remember well the Colorado hail mary. But then we had one of the greatest defensive (mostly) players EVER to play the game lead us to a national championship. We had to survive a hail mary in the Rose Bowl (yes it wasn't in the endzone and yes it was OPI, but still) to acheive this, but the championship is ours.
Yes The Horror was...well horrible. But Akron would also have been very painful if not for an overthrown pass to end the game.
The entire Hoke Era had a lot of downs, but a few bounces that went our way helped with the Sugar Bowl trophy in Schembechler Hall.
Now would also be the time to add the UTL was one of the most amazing games I've ever seen.
Yes, 2 weeks ago was horrible, but Dileo making the perfect play to set up the game winning field goal in 2012 doesn't happen every time.
I would of course have loved to see the 2 point conversion work in The Game in 2013, but how many times did we destroy their season in the 90's?
Wanna bitch about bad luck? I doubt you'd get a sympathetic ear from a NW fan after time expiring field goal that probably shouldn't have worked.
So yes, I was gutted 2 weeks ago. That sucked. But I (like many it seems here), knew that U-M played a great game many would feel (IMO rightly so) deserved to win that game. But there will be many Gophers tonight that feel (IMO rightly so) that they have every reason to win the Jug.
I guess the point of my soapbox rant, is that as a sports fan there will be many highs and many lows & of course we'd prefer fewer of the ladder, but c'est la vie. Try not to get too low with crappy loses, try not to get too high (unless you live in WA or CO), and enjoy the ride. We got the Jug!
OK I'll quit drinking and go to bed now (well, in a few minutes...GO OWLS)
Last thing-I'm too young for examples from the Schembechler Era, but would appreciate any input from the more experienced fans.

Minnesota played out of their minds today. However those first three quarters, they received an uncomprehensable amount of good luck. I've never seen anything like it. We were more than due some good luck, and we cashed it all in for those last 19 seconds.

the clock management and playcalling were awful at the last drive. After the catch (and review), Minnesota had time to get 3 plays off and then go for a FG. Instead they slowed down and shift then pass play to let it all go down to 2 second. Then a really bad play call for a QB sneak for a win. Should've gone for a FG to tie the game when you're at home and you have 3rd string QB playing against you.
Awful game management and playcalling by the Minnesota coaching staff all around.

I felt pretty lucky when the Gopher receiver put a knee down a fraction of a second too soon. I had thought the game was over at that point.
