Junior Colson was born in Haiti, lost parents in the earthquake
Remarkable story, I’d been wondering about since he mentioned today was the 8th anniversary of his arrival in the US. To overcome such tragedy to be an elite athlete is really something. So glad he’s Blue.
The 2021 recruit I'll be rooting hardest for, and for his adoptive family—they sound like amazing people.
Boy do we love our refugee recruits here. Colson hopefully gets M to 4/4 in recent memory (Darboh, Chesson, Kwity)
Don't forget Ojabo.
Ojabo wasn't a refugee. His parents live Ireland where they make a very good living for a Petroleum company. Ohabo lived there for most of his youth.
I didn't know the full backstory, but I had an inkling from his commitment video. His adoptive family just got exponentially bigger today!
my favorite part of the story, 'Mom' grew up in Saugatuck and her family wore green and white...she wanted to be different and rooted for the Blue. And as a Michigan fan, and Harbaugh fan I'm sure she had some influence. Hope he goes on to have a great career at Michigan and makes an impact in the world.
Don’t worry, Maizen will still shit on the kid.
Nah he won’t bother to make a new account for a 4-star commitment. Only the mark of the “3” can conjur his next mgoaccount into existence so as to explore the depths of the manner in which one can light $5 on fire
MAIZEN/Shawn already opened another account in May 22nd. Right now he's polluting the "2021 4* LB Jaydon Hood" thread, among others.
Seems like a great kid with a great family. Glad to have him as a Wolverine.
My wife and I went down to Haiti a year and a half ago so she could teach some doctors about ultrasound (in Gros Morne about a 6 hour drive north of Port au Prince if anybody is curious). On our way back to the airport, we spent a night in a resort and a couple of our new Haitian friends joined us. They were our translator and a medical resident from the hospital.
There were a lot of white families with black kids around the joint and my wife and I had been talking about adopting, but we wanted to know how Haitians felt about it. Our translator, a real sweetheart, politely told us that she doesn't love her people being taken away to another country, even if it was to a "better life." The resident was a real man's man full of the confidence that comes with personal success in early adulthood. He told us that most Haitians think white people, especially Russians, adopt Haitian babies to steal their organs. I'm glad that doesn't seem to be the case for Junior.
The treatment of Haiti by the international community is one of the greatest tragedies of the modern era.
Trump n his, ahhhhhh big brain, dye dress.
