Jordan Barnes

Submitted by wolverine1987 on
• The Wolverine.com reported today that U-M lost another oral commitment for the 2009 class. Fort Wayne (Ind.) Homestead linebacker Jordan Barnes told Rivals.com that he is no longer committed to Michigan. Crap.

Jordan Barnes is worthless anyway. Taylor Lewan is a huge boost over Jordan Barnes, who would have been just an average player as opposed to Lewan who might be a super star. (Yes different positions obviously, but a great trade off)

Worthless? I think our coaches do a better job of evaluating talent than that. Overrated...maybe low ceiling...possibly potential...you never know but "worthless"....c'mon

you know what i mean you morons. Taylor Lewan > Jordan Barnes. quit arguing like little bitches.

nope. just shining some light on the fact that we dont need jordan barnes. The fact that he doesnt want to play for michigan makes him worthless in my eyes. Clears up space for better kids who actually want to play for UM.

I understand disliking his decision to stay. It might even speak to his character. But (please do not take this personally) it sounded like something sparty would say whenever a recruit decided not to go to school at MSU. you know, the whole "He wasn't any good anyway. And we never wanted that bum in the first place"

I wouldnt say the same for Newsome, Fera, definitely not william campbell, or bryce mcneel. But i just was not psyched about giving Jordan Barnes a scholarship. We need high end recruits for linebackers, not some bum.

I agree we need to upgrade the LB position in a significant way. And yeah, there are alot of other recruits out there that I would like to get in front of Barnes. But a three star recruit has to have some measure of talent. I don't think we should dismiss him out of hand.

Hes almost as big of a bum as you are Jay. not to mention a pessimistic one at that. And i'm only 21, i think i have the right to call someone 3 years younger than me a bum

I think you swapped the 2 and the 1 in your age there, kiddo. If Jordan Barnes, a kid with considerable athletic talent, is a bum, what then does it make you? You have no athletic talent of merit, you also lack any sort of reasoning or English skills, and you spend your free time on the internet calling kids you don't know bums. Pot. Kettle. Black.

The dude IS a 3-star football recruit with offers from several Big Ten schools. Calling him a bum isn't against your rights. It is overly harsh, however. I don't know anything about you as an individual, but I'm guessing you (and I) would have been happy to be a 3-star recruit (a.k.a. "bum") coming out of high school. Nobody's disagreeing with the gist of your thought process. I think most/all of us are more excited about Lewan than we were about Barnes. It's the way you present it that's befuddling people.

Mike Hart also had crazy yardage his senior year. Based on what i've seen from Jordan Barnes, he was nothing more than mediocre. And if you guys wanna keep being shitty/mediocre, then keep bitching about losing him.

I don't think anyone here is "bitching" about losing a recruit. Rather, I think we're just holding a dialogue on the fact you're a douche. Personally, I'd take a 3* linebacker over a 5* message board asshole. That's about it.

The difference b/t mike hart and jordan barnes is, Mike Hart bled blue. Jordan Barnes was a girl and couldnt make up his mind. Ya he is just 18, but there are thousands of 18 year old recruits every year that don't act like a girl and change their minds. I dont understand why so many of you are so supportive of Jordan Barnes. He flaked on us. if he had not committed at all to michigan in the first place (and later decommitted), i wouldnt be calling him out. Praise the players that want to play for UM.

You're right. He flaked on us. That does not make him a "bum" or a "girl." You're right, though. Let's praise the players that want to play for UM... ...oh, wait a minute? You weren't praising those players? You were just whaling on a 17-year-old who changed his mind? Oh.

How can you even compare an offensive lineman's skills to those of a linebacker? Star rankings? Please. Zoltan is a terrible punter. He only had three stars. And Rivas was only a three star kicker.

You made no mention of Lewan being better than Barnes because he wants to play for Michigan. You just said he's a "huge boost" which can be interpreted in 1,000 different ways. But I find it interesting that apparently every guy who doesn't want to play for Michigan is a "bum." I guess that makes Sam McGuffie a bum, too?

These annual soap operas are a big reason why I've stopped following recruiting. It's not worth it to live and die over every kid's decision. Just wait until February and then see who we've got.

As i mentioned earlier (again), i wouldnt say the bum comment to the other couple decommits we had, as they were skilled players... do you jackasses even read before you comment? And i even mentioned the 2 dont even play the same position yet one is more valuable is his position than the other. No Sam mcguffie is an entirely different situation. 3 concussions, depression etc. I feel for the guy.

Since there are only so many slots left open, you could look at it as a trade off. Barnes out, Lewan in, and the same number of scholarships available. Besides, why do so many feel it's their responsibility to defend some high school player? Kid calls him a bum for decommitting, Who cares? Jordan Barnes doesn't need anyone to defend him from fanatics on an internet site.

Except you actually mean "Ace". He's the type of intellect that thinks that pronouncing "ass" as "ace" is funny. In other words, a complete lack of intellect. There are some screen-names that the first time you read them, you know are going to provide nothing but utter non-sensical drivel - and "Shove3and9upyourACE" fits the bill.

Yeah, like someone read my name and was like "wow, I bet that guy's a total apostate, or just doesn't like beards." On the other hand, when you meet a great knight called Luvs2spooj... Moral of the story: don't call a player a bum unless he does something incredibly bum-like, like, I dunno, expose oneself on peoples' porches, or commit to Ohio State.

haha its not meant to be funny. Its meant to keep it clean for the kids. but your real funny too chitownblue.

You're right. Substituting "Ace" for "Ass" solves all of the potential offensive implications of "shove ____ up your ass". Brilliance in action, you are.

ACE, I nominate you for poster of the year. Although everyone thinks that you're immature and an idiot, I genuinely appreciate your comments. You are the type of narrow-minded michigan fan that I think is great, seriously.
