JJs New Cleats + SI Interview
JJ McCarthy will wear some fancy, new cleats some maize and blue Jordan 1s:
The classy maize and blue Jordan 1 cleats adorned with a very simple red and green rose, which absolutely pops on the back of the footwear, is reminiscent of the old, jumbo shoulder patches that Michigan used to wear in the Rose Bowl.
I hope they bring good luck/championship juju to these playoffs!

I know it's silly, but I still think that high-top cleats make you look slower than low-cut cleats.

There's not much leather on that cleat compared to the Joran XII that JJ normally wears and it's no where near what the original Jordan 1's were made of.

Jordan 1s back in the day didn’t exactly make you light on your feet. I’m sure todays are nowhere near the weight (or quality) they used to be. I remember getting a pair of converse weapons for Xmas for basketball and they were like wearing steel toe work boots on the court. The best made worst shoe one would ever lace up. Had my parents not spent 25% of a weeks pay on them I’d have never wore them.

Maybe I was too small so I had tiny feet, but I would guess my roos could only fit a dime or MAYBE a penny in the pocket.
Reebok pumps were the shit. Then the Larry Johnson Converse. LA Gear were never "cool" but I remember them as one if the firstto put LED lights in them.

Ladarius Henderson’s wife actually did the roses. She has a very successful business of doing custom footwear designs for several athletes pro and college.
