JJ McCarthy Sending a Positive Message

Submitted by WoodleyIsBeast on November 15th, 2020 at 11:30 AM

Apologies for the iPhone formatting. JJ McCarthy just tweeted a positive perspective during this rough time. Love this kid already! Feels like he will be named captain as a sophomore.

“I want all Michigan fans to do this. Take 3 deep breaths... And have faith. Faith that every single Coach, player, employee in that building is doing everything they possibly can to be great.”

”This great university demands excellence. This great fan base demands excellence. Everything that surrounds this university, is simply just pure drive for excellence. Know that every single person associated with the football program is striving for excellence.”

“There is always light at the end of the tunnel. They will not reach that light if it is being clouded by darkness. Support is the only thing that they need right now.EVERY single one of you has the power to contribute to theGOAL.We are all in this together〽️“

Hope this inspired attitude miraculously stays alive once he’s more immersed in Harbaugh’s program of lifelessness.

Or WAY better yet, it is no longer Harbaugh’s program by then.

I’m never gonna apologize for seeing the objective truth that this program needs a total restart, and to all who say that perspective is “immature” because that is the only ground they have to stand on at this point - get the fuck outta here.

However, this man (ironically) has just shown far more maturity than the few delusional souls who are angling his comments as “more mature than the fanbase.” In the position he’s in, I give him all the credit in the world for standing up for himself and showing passion for the program.

Thanks for showing some fire, JJ!
The blame for the fact that Michigan Football can’t seem to harness or spread that fire lies 100% on the coaching staff and athletic department. Anyone who says the FANS who fill that stadium and voluntarily endure the pain for decades are the perpetrators can kindly give me some of what they are smoking.

How is "maturity" related to observing the objective truth.  I freaking love the Michigan Wolverines, but no way in the world would I send my son to sit under Harbaugh to be a QB.  All evidence would point to the fact that you would be sending your son to a coach that cannot develop or coach QB talent since arriving in Ann Arbor.  Furthermore, your chance of being molded into a QB that could play in the NFL is almost zero under Harbaugh since arriving at Michigan.

This isn't about "maturity"....this is about "reality".

Actually those are entirely subjective. What is cold to one person may be warm to another.

Example, 85 degrees in the Middle East feels refreshingly cool. 85 degrees in Alaska is brutally hot.

Everyone can have a different definition of what is blue to them.

And you call Hot warm. Why is Hot not hot and warm is warm. What do you consider hot.

A fact should be a fact, and yet you don't get the same story from CNN, NBC, FOX, etc

Nothing against the rest of your posts, just highlighting that there are far more subjective truths than may appear

Easy 110,000 fans and a starting job he can easily win.

USC and Texas both still got 5 star big dog qb's in recruiting changes. why would this kid leave over Luke Fickel coming in? If anything a new coaching staff could use the kid more and with Michigan he can get all those $$$ sponsorships from the soon to be profit from your likeness. I'd buy something with his face on it after today.

I love everything about what this kid is doing.  And frankly, I think too many on this board and others in the Michigan "fanbase" are letting the media frame the narrative for them.  Jimmy has recruited and developed great teammates and men.  He has insisted upon, and supported their pursuit of, academic excellence.  Sure, we'd all like them to win more games, but I'm very proud of the program he is running.

Forever, Go Blue.

I really hate this argument that if you disagree with someone they are brainwashed by the media.    I watched the last three games, I don’t need the media to tell me that for whatever reason, Jim Harbaugh is not getting it done at Michigan.

I also believe that there is more to what I want in a college team than national championships )but they’d certainly be nice).   I want to be proud not just of wins and losses but of the quality of the players and the coaching staff.    That having been said, if the team isn’t at least decent, it is time to move.   First and foremost, Harbaugh is a head football coach and it is responsibility to have a team of coaches and other support staff who can recruit, teach, game plan and motivate enough so that we are competitive.  The clear evidence on the field says he can’t do that.

The media doesn’t need to frame anything.  Have you seen the last three atrocities?  Listen, his record against top teams and OSU speak for themselves.  Throw in the absolute worst loss I have ever seen against MSU and there just really isn’t anything positive going on right now.  Hats off to JJ but if Harbaugh is his coach, there is no reason to think this kid does anything with his career either.  If we think JJ is going to solve our problems, we are only kidding ourselves. I can hand the ball off for a 1yd gain just as easily as he can.

That's positive because he's the one guy we probably can't do without.  Unfortunately however, the one guy we need gone appears to be JH :/

Honestly I'll move past this season really fast once something good happens. Looks like both basketball teams should be good and getting better and hockey looks amazing. Football will get back there at some point even if a coaching change is needed.

Kid is incredibly talented and seems very mature beyond his years.

That said, I think he should look elsewhere if we keep Harbaugh. He will ruin his career by coming here with the way things are trending.

I hope he becomes the starting quarterback straight away next season. Doesn't matter that he will be a freshman, he will be the best qb on the roster and plenty of freshman qb's start elsewhere in college football.

The best thing to happen to us this year is PSU getting trashed too.

because it shows recruits some perspective. PSU is a program that has actually won a big 10 title in the last 10 years and done better than us. so its not just us having a bad year.
