J.J. McCarthy 2023 season highlights

I just found this on YouTube.  It's certainly a good watch.  What was notable to me was not only the great passes, but also the reminder of just how much Michigan beat the breaks off of their opponents throughout most of the season.  I mean, just devastating blowout after devastating blowout!  No wonder why all the other coaches hate Harbaugh!

Anyway, enjoy.

Pretty sure these don't count and need to be thrown away as the PSU defensive analyst said it was all the sign stealing and JJ is a fraud.

/s because I know how some of you are...

What seems lost on all these people talking about how the offense wasn't the same after the sign stuff broke is that Harbaugh was suspended for the final three games of the regular season, including against our two toughest opponents. We beat the shit out of Sparty, had a sleepy but still dominant win over a crappy Purdue team (that only covered with a long TD in the closing seconds of garbage time), and then went into the three-game stretch of two top-ten teams and a decent MD team without Harbaugh.

Sherrone wasn't bad doubling as the HC and OC, but I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that our four clunkiest offensive performances were the four games where Sherrone was the acting HC. Even when his play calling was aggressive (going for it on fourth, etc.), the plays he called seemed pretty conservative. He just seemed to call tight games when Harbaugh was out, like he was playing not to lose, or maybe more aptly playing not to make mistakes.

That wasn't necessarily the wrong call (we are undefeated after all), but it's (hopefully at least) not fully representative of the game he plans to call against Bama with Harbaugh back on the sidelines, where ultraconservative probably won't cut it...

JJ is fantastic - and, I'm SO glad he's wearing maize & blue.

My perspective is - he was nicked up a bit in the game against Penn State.   And, the schedule didn't  provide much time for him to get back to 100%.    My hope is - after the B1G CCG - with the changes to the practice regimen (less contact) - he's had the necessary time to recover and return to the form he displayed earlier this season.

Go Blue!

Elite pocket presence. Just an unmatched feel for pressure and where it's coming from.

Injuries and a run-first offense don't always allow him the stage to display these traits, but he's been performing on a whole another level than 99% of college QBs in this area, and it makes all the difference for the rest of the offense.

I don't think they included this one:

JJ at his best (or at least most fun) is Patrick Mahomes-lite. No, I'm not saying he's Mahomes. But he has speed, accuracy, and improvisational abilities.

What bothers me is this was a coach or coaches attacking a player, insinuating that he was an active participant in "cheating."  I find that frankly disgusting.  Attack M's coaches all you want (despite no evidence being presented that any of them knew anything about what Stalions was doing).  But you're going to attack players anonymously?  Potentially hurt their draft stock, legacy, future earnings?  Absolute loser, whoever it was.

That was fun to watch! Such a talented individual and total team player.

I was a little worried watching the highlights against Sparty.  Thought they might have gotten injured since we knew when they were blitzing!
