Jeremy Pruitt interested in Michigan DC job

Ignore that first part. No one cares about your prediction.

I expect Jeremy Pruitt to land at Alabama replacing Kirby Smart. I'm told he's also interested in Michigan DC job.

I am as big of a Michigan homer as anybody, but why would he not want to go to Alabama where he already has ties and is in his home region?

I think the Hackett statue should be in the jumpman pose, like the Jordan statue outside of the United Center. Except he will be wearing his #53 jersey, and he will be dunking a bronze cast of Dave Brandon's head. With the maize watch of course. Oh, he'll also be stepping on sparty with one foot and jumping over Brutus with the other.

Good at his job on field, can recruit the south, has a couple of our current targets who really like him...yes please.  Assuming he clicks with Harbaugh and all the interpersonal stuff works, I would very much want this to happen.

This would be an A+ hire. If he does come here, maybe he'll surprise us all and embrace the cold weather instead of going up in the box.

Yes, he owes us big time.

If only there was a way he could pay us back . . . like, let's say, LSU faces Michigan in a New Years Day bowl game.  Hmmm?

I'm just saying.

What if one of those nutty fake field goal calls didn't go LSU's way.  Who would really know?

Sorry, I thought this was a Michigan blog.  In any event, of course he's interested in Michigan.  They have a top notch head coach, great facilities, a ton of money to spend, and a huge brand name.  Working under Harbaugh is the best way to get your own head coaching job.  He may be interested in Bama more, but it's not being a homer to say he's interested in Michigan too.

I don't think it's Michigan's style to compete like that. It'll be interesting to see if Just because we could, would we? I don't think we're gonna try justifying $1.5MM coordinators right now. Bama doesn't have a choice. They can't afford to miss and they're already paying their HC $7.5+a 3MM mortgage.

Although this seems doubtful, I think he'd have to listen at least.

If you listen to SEC-centric blog podcasts (like the Shutdown Fullcast, or Podcast Ain't Paid Nobody), the adage is that you don't hire Saban assistants because you don't know whether they're good or whether they're part of an elite program. So it's conceivable that the appeal to him would be going to a place where he's the unquestioned leader of what could be a top ten defense.

But I agree - the more likely reason that this information is public is because he's trying to ensure that Alabama doesn't get a hometown discount.
