Jeremy Pruitt interested in Michigan DC job
Ignore that first part. No one cares about your prediction.
I expect Jeremy Pruitt to land at Alabama replacing Kirby Smart. I'm told he's also interested in Michigan DC job.

I am as big of a Michigan homer as anybody, but why would he not want to go to Alabama where he already has ties and is in his home region?

Sounds good to me. I'm in.

Because Saban is clearly going to Texas

Because Bama doesn't have a Harbaugh?

I think the best draw we have is Harbaugh. Who would he rather work for? Who would give him more control over the defense? Might be an issue with Saban.

Good at his job on field, can recruit the south, has a couple of our current targets who really like him...yes please. Assuming he clicks with Harbaugh and all the interpersonal stuff works, I would very much want this to happen.

This would be an A+ hire. If he does come here, maybe he'll surprise us all and embrace the cold weather instead of going up in the box.

Amen.
We make so many people money just by being somewhat connected to a source of a source. I think we made Les $10M alone.
December 2nd, 2015 at 8:19 PM ^
Yes, he owes us big time.
If only there was a way he could pay us back . . . like, let's say, LSU faces Michigan in a New Years Day bowl game. Hmmm?
I'm just saying.
What if one of those nutty fake field goal calls didn't go LSU's way. Who would really know?

His whole $15m buyout was courtesy of Michigan.

Jeremy Pruitt? Or Jeremy Pruitt's agent as he angles to get Alabama to pay $250K more for his client?
December 2nd, 2015 at 8:06 PM ^
I am guessing it's his agent. Of course, he might actually be interested as well. But no doubt it's a no lose situation for him (and his agent) to express interest in the Michigan job.

I believe this exact move is referred to as the "Les Miles" in the Agent world

I've also heard it referred to as "the Mad Hatter"....

Sorry, I thought this was a Michigan blog. In any event, of course he's interested in Michigan. They have a top notch head coach, great facilities, a ton of money to spend, and a huge brand name. Working under Harbaugh is the best way to get your own head coaching job. He may be interested in Bama more, but it's not being a homer to say he's interested in Michigan too.

Didn't Harbaugh leave money on the table so that we could pay coordinators big $$$?
We would have easily paid $500K more to get Harbaugh, but we did not have to.
So spend it on a DC that can stop Ohio State if that's what Harbaugh wants.

Although this seems doubtful, I think he'd have to listen at least.
If you listen to SEC-centric blog podcasts (like the Shutdown Fullcast, or Podcast Ain't Paid Nobody), the adage is that you don't hire Saban assistants because you don't know whether they're good or whether they're part of an elite program. So it's conceivable that the appeal to him would be going to a place where he's the unquestioned leader of what could be a top ten defense.
But I agree - the more likely reason that this information is public is because he's trying to ensure that Alabama doesn't get a hometown discount.

Correct. But my point is that he may not help himself out if his goal is to be a head coach by taking a job under Saban now.

hiring the right guy but it doesn't mean I can't be pissed off at Durkin and his bullshit prep work for the OSU game, fuck him!
