Obviously knew he was transferring already, but now we know where to. Good for him! Wish Mr. Woods the best for his two years there and whatever else the future holds for him.

Shows how out of touch i am with the football roster. Saw this thread and my first thought was "oh well-coach Howard's going to miss on some of his targets."

Didn’t even know he could dunk
December 20th, 2019 at 8:27 PM ^
well yeah otherwise he’d be headed up the road to Elon
December 20th, 2019 at 7:00 PM ^
Yep! I thought it was about a basketball recruit, too

How could you forget J'Marick Woods? His nickname was "Woods" and his grizzled prospector nickname was "Ol' Woods." That's just classic, man.
December 20th, 2019 at 11:15 PM ^
I always remembered who he was for the same reason.
December 21st, 2019 at 11:33 AM ^
I thought the same thing. We’re getting Hunter Dickinson so this isn’t a big deal

Good luck J'Marick.
Give it your best @ Duke.

Kinda thought he’d make a good viper and with two safety positions opening up, well there’s like 5 well regarded ones in the new class so something had to give.

So Duke took our top coaching target (If you recall we offered him the job and he said no) and one of our players.
Not great Bob (Eubanks), who's grandson is looking at his Draft prospects.

We did not offer him the job though. He was on a list of potential targets. Harbaugh was the #1, and we got him.

Good luck young man

Did he graduate from Michigan? If he did, then he's working on his Master's degree at Duke while he's playing. A Bachelor's from Michigan and a Master's from Duke is a pretty damn nice set of credentials. Even if he doesn't make it to the NFL, he would be in a great position.
December 20th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
Article says he did. I had the same thought.
December 20th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
Yes he graduated and has 2 years of eligibility left.

this is the one thing that the NCAA seems to get right.
Get a bachelor's degree and then grad transfer and get a master's at another institution.
Whatever happens with his football career, you know he has a bright future ahead of him! All the best to the young man.

imagine if he could go to business school at Duke for those two years. With the alum connections from both UM and Duke....how much would the Wisconsin grads would hate you?!

I am very happy for him that he will be able to utilize his football abilities to build an enviable resume.
December 21st, 2019 at 12:49 AM ^
A b.a. from Michigan and a masters from Duke? Yeah, I'm impressed. Way to go, J'Marick!
December 21st, 2019 at 10:30 AM ^
I went to Michigan, my wife went to Duke. My son is starting his college search process.
Holy cow, if he could pull off what Woods just did, that would be the gold star.
Congrats to you Mr. Woods.

And “free” ... football generated a helluva return on his investment (time, sacrifice).
Good for him and very impressive.

About to the post the same topic, congrats JW. You will have an exceptional resume and excellent contacts.
December 20th, 2019 at 8:33 PM ^
Best wishes to the young fella. Ol' Woods could lay a lick, we'll always remember that.
December 20th, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
J'Marick has been a player at two really good schools. I don't know if the NFL is his future, but if not I hope he manages to get a second degree from Duke.

Honestly, this is the smartest move as a non-star football player can make. Using his athletic abilities to play a game he loves, get a top-flight education, and get set up for success. What's not to love?
December 20th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
Best wishes, Ole Woods!

I tend to be biased in favor of our guys, but I think he’s a better player than most at Duke. He didn’t get the opportunities as often as he could have here, but I see him as a starter at a good program. At least now, he can kick some SEC WRs booties. Best of luck to him . . .

*ACC. That too the Coastal division which is up for grabs every year. All 7 teams in the division have won the division in the last 7 years.
December 21st, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
Of course. Completely right. I completely spaced. ACC is just Clemson and some other teams. He should be that much better in the ACC than in the SEC.
