IU Reporter: BTT To DC for a year?
Sorry I'm not good at embedding tweets but I saw this tidbit from Justin Albers, who follows IU basketball and works for Fox Sports:

"Hearing the Big Ten Tournament will be moved out of Indianapolis and to Washington DC for at least one year. Disappointing. #iubb"
I attended the B1G Tournament the last two years in Chicago and Indy and I truly think that it should rotate between those two cities, if not adding Detroit.
USN wouldn't want to risk a capital ship in shallow waters teeming with diesel/midget subs. Even with a screen of a LA/Va SSNs and P3, P8s.
Especially with a country with a batshit crazy leader.
What if we had Ted Nugent playing electric during the entire tournament and Hooters girls serving wings to everyone? I think North Korea would have to accept democracy after seeing that spectacle of America.
And this is why you're the Commissioner
doing something simply for a chance at more cash.
They had a final four, super bowl, mlb all star game, world series etc. in Detroit. I'm sure that they could host B1G events and it doesn't have to be every year.
Reactionaries going to reaction
to have in DC or anywhere in the East Coast (maybe Philly) or even Pittsburgh. I don't know why Indy is so highly thought of.
As others have said, like it or not, expansion and TV market is the new reality. I'm in favor of rotating every 3rd year into the east/mid-atlantic region.
And you still can't beat Chicago as an all-around destination. Indy is Chicago's little brother.
or spend the time on Rush Street or any number of things EXCEPT going to Soldiers Field or the United Center. They aren't close to anything. As a vacation destnation - yeah, no comparison Chicago beats every "big" city except NYC - Indy isn't even close. To watch a sporting event Indy has Chicago and NYC beat.
