Isaiah Hole Appreciation Thread

Submitted by Indy Pete - Go Blue on November 4th, 2023 at 12:39 AM

This thing isn’t over, but Isaiah’s cryptic confidence and predictions have generally unfolded as he strongly alluded that they would.  One day, in a few years, he will tell us everything and where it came from. In the meantime, he has been carrying a lot of weight for a fanbase in need of hope from someone on the inside. Well done Isaiah Hole - our man on the ground.

He has said nothing except a bunch of vague cliches. That way he can never be wrong. But he certainly hasn’t been right. Nice try, tho, Mr. Hole. Thanks for logging-in.

He dropped a few days ago that there was a "felony" in obtaining information from Stalion's drive. Today, Balas dropped his PI report that basically said the same thing.

Tbf, I get the complaints with Hole. Sometimes he's so vague it's basically impossible to make out what his actual point is, let alone accuse him of being wrong.

He says time and time again that it's to protect his sources, and he's probably not lying. I have worked a ton of stories myself, and sometimes sources give you information on background that you just can't use for one reason or another. But what you can use it for is to inform your reporting.

So in a way, Hole is kind of serving as a debunker even though he can't say why. This report or that report is coming out, and Hole knows because of the information he has that it's unlikely to be true, but he also can't report the information he has for whatever reason.

Having information on background also helps point you in the right direction for when you can reveal information, either from the source you have on background or if you confirm it with another source, especially one who will allow you to use the information.

This seems excessive.  Hole is the guy describing the Stalions expense report while Balas is only darkly alluding to it, for example.

He may not be the ultimate source of all knowledge, but he does seem to be in the loop and he shares enough to make keeping our heads feel like a viable option.  And then later it turns out that keeping our heads was the correct status.  That's more than you can say about just about everyone else reporting on this other than Sam and Brian.

Do you also love things that are "Jumbo"?  I'm thinking it's likely yes...

He actually doesn’t say anything though. Every episode is the same vagaries, promises to come later, the truth will set us free, etc.

Sam Webb out here shooting out detailed volumes daily.

At the least, and notwithstanding his need to be coy about what he can say and when, Mr. Hole is doing his best to counter the orchestrated stream of garbage being spewed by the horde of media hacks.  Thanks!

Big appreciation for insiders like Isaiah who have put in the overtime the last two weeks, and are always working to get down to the truth.

Speaking of the truth, I think it’s clear that Isaiah believes the truth here will ultimately make this all go away (outside of minor program or coach punishments).

I have a theory that I shared in the other Isaiah thread, connecting the dots of the facts we know so far. I think the sign stealers often work as an independent community outside of the purview of their coaches. What Connor did may be supported or also done by other sign stealers. Their trading of signs probably only works if you have recordings to share vs. written descriptions or drawings.

I know he has to be cryptic for his sources but holy shit I've listened to a couple of those 30 minute YouTube videos and it's like politician talk. It's kind of similar to Thamel where no one actually says anything. I'm so frustrated with the lack of real information in this whole scenari.

He takes 30 mins to allude to 30 seconds of information, which usually exists elsewhere. On most days it’s annoying ‘filler’. Every journalist has sources ‘on background’ and unconfirmed info. They don’t spend all the podcast saying they ‘can’t say more’.

That withstanding, I like him. He used his background info to convey confidence and calm. it’s more like therapy for anxious obsessive fans like me than it is informative. But, after Balas’s panic posts I needed it to get to sleep. I also normally appreciate balas’s transparency.

Right now, I just want to watch my team kick the shit out of Purdue and the rest of those cowards. F the Big10. F ESPN. F the Athletic. We have receipts and we’re coming for blood.
