Iowa QB Jake Rudock graduate transferring to Michigan?

Submitted by SAMgO on

There are rumors flying all over twitter about it this morning and a couple trusted posters on scout have said that they heard from solid sources that he informed Iowa that he will be coming here for his RS senior season. This would obviously be a major shake-up to the most important position on our depth chart.

Here's his player bio

helps prospects for that first game against Utah.  Imagine harbaugh's first game and the team is lacklustre with QB mistakes.   Getting off to a strong start beating a quality opponent that the team lost to last year is a psychological necessity. Even though there is a positive buzz surrounding M right now that first game is so important to set the tone for the season.  This QB from Iowa looks good and is obviously a smart player with some academic honors.  Harbaugh has seen the film on all of the current Michigan players and must want more experience at that position for next season.  I think it's a really positive move.

Too bad he can't grad transfer to a school in his conference and play in the same season. Guess we'll have to wait a year to see him play, if he wins the starting gig.

is about building an army full of men who will compete and succeed through adversity of performance and other obstacles. There is always someone who can take your job in the NFL either because of injury or performance.

Harbaugh isn't just giving the scholarship qbs a look this spring, he's giving all the position guys on the roster a chance to play.

Rudock, if this rumor is true, only widens the field of competition for the eventual leader and best to run Michigan's offense. It certainly means you fully staff two offensive teams at quarterback for the spring game, whether Rudock transfers or not.
