The Iowa loss last year...

Submitted by nuck on

When RR put Denard in for the final drive I felt a twinge of regret that they didn't put Tate in instead after his comeback heroics the previous weeks. After the final interception it felt like a missed opportunity.

HOWEVA! Having that experience must have really helped Denard out this year:

Denard might have been too amped up in the comeback attempt at Iowa last year: "This time, I calmed myself down a little bit more, and focused in."

So maybe in essence we gave up a loss last year to win the ND game this year. I'm now glad Denard's first high pressure comeback attempt on the road with time running out wasn't today.

I spent an entire quarter of the PSU game last year arguing with a guy and his son about how the experience was invaluable for Denard for the future, and they kept insisting that he play wide receiver.  I want to know what they think of him now.  Assholes.

Based on Tate's play last year (particularly early on) and Denard's inaccuracy - which was pretty bad. it was bad against baby seal U.

But Denard worked hard, real hard and now has added control to his strong arm and fast, fast legs. However, he's going to have to improve his downfield throws that require going over the top of the receiver. But a lot of guys struggle with the appropriate touch (or putting air under the ball). Actually Crist struggled with that a lot during the game, because they had that play they scored on all day long if they could have completed the throw.

my post from a few minutes ago about D-Rob. I don't think we win today with D-Rob playing in that Iowa game last year. I mean, there's no way to know that. Just my feeling.

I hope to never see sad panda again.  He was put in a tough situation last year in Iowa and almost led us to the comeback win.  We have something special with this kid, I'm going to cherish every play we're given with him throughout the rest of his career.
