Interacting With Recruits

Submitted by gater on

I'm with TOB on this one.  I can't believe people would do this.  Do they want to rebuild the program or not?

If you are the person who verbally attacked Anthony Zettel after Saturday's game because he hasn't committed to Michigan yet, or if you're the tool who flipped off James Ross and his father because they wore red and white ST. MARY'S PREP SWEATSHIRTS to the game, you're a piece of shit, and I'm embarrassed to cheer for the same team as you. Go jump off a cliff.

@ the "no one cheated on taxes."  We have that generation to thank for the current complexity of the Internal Revenue Code.  The top marginal rate under Eisenhower was extreeeemely high, like 80-90%.  However, very few paid this rate because so many shelters and other shady business was going on behind the scenes.  The tradeoff came in 1986-lower taxes generally, but about 2 linear feet of regs to deal with to make people stop evading taxes.

This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard.  Who could possibly think this would be a good idea?  It's so over-the-top idiotic I almost wonder if it was a fan of a rival team wanting to make us look bad.

I know these shitty fans are a minority, but I hate hearing crap like this.  And yeah, I know this type of thing happens all over the country but it really makes me sick and makes us look so terrible.  These people do in fact need to jump off a cliff.

Zettel seems smart enough to be able to say, "A few drunk morons I encounter a couple times a season aren't going to effect my college career, the vast majority of fans are awesome, and every school is going to have drunk morons."

That said, if I ever encounter some asshole berating a high school kid for being unsure where he wants to go to college, I will punch him in the face. Shoot, one punch on a drunk guy isn't even a misdemeanor, I'm pretty sure. I believe it goes down as petty and is punishable by a stern talking to.

Man that makes me absolutely sick.  I really didn't think Michigan had fans like that, but obviously I was wrong.  Whoever was involved in that should have been escorted from the game.  I'm sure RR would be absoluely disgusted with fans treating a potential recruit like that.  Hopefully in the future if anyone see's anything like that happening a 'real' fan should step in and shut the idiot(s) up.  We don't need to lose recruits because of a drunk idiot.
