A 7-5 Iowa team gets to tangle with a 9-3 Oklahoma team.
As much as I love the B1G since my alma mater is in it, I must say that this game should not look terribly promising for Hawkeye fans. I dare say that Oklahoma holds answers to football questions that you never asked.
I hate to say it, but I went Oklahoma in the pool. I just don't see the Hawkeyes pulling this one out unless there is a case of the trots that has been going around of late.
ESPN at 10 PM EST. Be there.

This is the game I have been waiting for all day. I hope Iowa stays in it.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
Go Hawks! I was hoping the SEC would go down in game one doesn't look like it will happen.
December 30th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
Yeah me too, but they are playing wake forest ferchrisakes.

Stop playing good teams in bowl games
December 30th, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
The 10pm start?
December 30th, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
There's no night life in Norman or Iowa City.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
Is actually a fairly decent college town to party at.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
Speaking from experience? I wouldn't mind an excuse for a roadtrip in '13.
December 31st, 2011 at 2:09 AM ^
I road tripped to the game in Iowa City this year. Those kids party kinda hard friday night and then wake up before the sun is up and go crazy before the game. I was pretty impressed.

Makes ESPN happy. Though didn't this game used to be on at this time on New Year's Eve? Or was that another one?
December 30th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
...it was on the 31st. Last year they moved it to the 28th.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:02 PM ^
living on the ill/ia border, i hope iowa pulls it off as i hate OU and iowa is good in bowls
December 30th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
Doing the relaxed version of "Jump Around" just now...
December 30th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
Not looking good for the B1G here so far on the first drive sampling.
EDIT: That sucks for Whaley, not many players had to work as hard as he did to get to that point (for those of you who remember his story from the OU vs. FSU game).
December 30th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
Iowa will not let you Fred Astaire your way to the line of scrimmage...
EDIT: James Vandenberg has to be pissed at himself - how do you get a personal foul on the pick that YOU THREW?

could not look worse.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
He must feel bad for Wake Forest's QB or something.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
That dude looked like a HS sophmore vs. the Ravens on the last drive of that game during the 2 minute drill.

Canzeri, Bullock, White, Johnson. Coker is the at-large member.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
I'll attribute that to great film study on the part of OU's defensive coordinator. Or Vandenburg needs a chill pill.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
I think Vandenberg is not done throwing intereceptions tonight.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:39 PM ^
...they are bullets at the same time, no?
December 30th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
Yes but the "sharks" in the OK secondary worry me.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
So sick of these Christmas Lexus commercials.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
Yeah, but I still look up everytime they come on to check out the hot ladies.

Matt Millen advocating hitting with your head. Tremendous.
December 30th, 2011 at 11:15 PM ^
Explain a lot.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:41 PM ^
Gotta take those points.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
Oklahoma kicks a medium-range missile to negate the potential of awesome field position for Iowa. It sort of makes up for dicking around at the foot of the end zone on that last drive.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
Canzeri looks like he has a promising future.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:49 PM ^
He has this, "You don't see this sh*t in the B1G..." look right now.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:50 PM ^
better figure out the OU pass rush or they're going nowhere.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:52 PM ^
It seems they get 7-10 yards per rush or nothing at all too.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:54 PM ^
Nice sack, Iowa needed that badly.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:56 PM ^
And have shown some movement on O. Can wn this if they get a lead this half, get into OU's head a bit.
OU was #1 once???
December 30th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
Computers have a boner for the big12.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:59 PM ^
For pre-season that was all Skip Bayless.
December 30th, 2011 at 11:01 PM ^
...my laptop kept IMing me, telling me that Texas would dominate, so this is true.
December 30th, 2011 at 11:06 PM ^
Blows my mind that texas is not better with all those 5 stars. Mack Brown must be complacent like Lloyd during the later half of his career.
December 30th, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
CMU ad?
December 30th, 2011 at 11:01 PM ^
Why can't there offense play like this against Mixhigan?
December 30th, 2011 at 11:03 PM ^
Both teams seem to be pretty flat out there tonight.
December 30th, 2011 at 11:06 PM ^
This is one of those games that seems to guarantee the Big 10 a losing bowl record each year. 7-5 Iowa is playing preseason #1 Oklahoma, which also was one game away from being Big 12 champ. Iowa wasn't even close to the Big 10 title. They can play tough, but ultimately they're at best the Big 10 #5 team this year. The Big 10 should get serious about getting itself better (more equal) matchups in bowl season.
December 30th, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
I hear you ZL. Our matchups this year suck. Underdogs in 8 of 10 IRRC.
