Indoor practice facilities
It may be my lack of coffee this morning but I was thinking about something. I don’t know if anyone has ever done or thought of this but here it goes. Since we have one of the biggest practice facilities in the nation it would have been nice to install a rain simulator indoors. It seems that we had some issues with ball security in wet conditions. Now...if we can pair that with dropping the temp or throwing in some wind machines. Our young men can find out what plays work well in certain weather conditions...Now I am off to get coffee.

Or they could just practice outside in those conditions. Build it because they can (can they?) or because they should?

Seriously. They didn't do AWAY with the outdoor practice field, and they still use it quite a bit. If the coaches decide they need to work on their rain play, snow play, etc, then they'll just take them outside.

It's not like Ann Arbor is the desert where it doesn't rain and is warm year round. The simple solution is to practice outside...

If only they could come up with some way to simulate rainy conditions on their outdoor practice field. Some sort of tubular liquid transferring device that was made out of rubber that they could hook to a spicket of some sort to bring water from the gound to wherever they wanted it. They could even use that device to put water directly on the balls to simulate wet conditions. Oh well, maybe in the future...

Continue the research and keep us informed.

And the reason you move indoors is so you can work on your offense and defense without worrying about weather conditions, so you can run plays and get them right.
There are 12 Saturdays during the season. Chances are you are going to have decent weather for most of them.
And the things you suggest would probably add ALOT of money to the tabs of the structures. The weather outside is provided free of charge.

I have learned three things from this bad post.
1. In the future will no longer post until I have had my third cup of coffee.
2. I will leave football posting up to the pros.
3. I will stay in my lane and do what I do best...make great burgers.

Nah. Relax man. We love you. We all have crazy ideas from time to time.
Now, an ability to crank the humidity way up and fill it up with smog in there and create a Rose Bowl practice experience might be something.

for those who can put the snark aside to really consider it, being able to go outside does not always help. What if the rain is expected for the weekend, but does not come until Friday afternoon?
I like the idea - not sure how it would work - but I like it

They should install a clock that doesn't work to practice for this game

I'm just glad we have TWO indoor practice facilities now......cuz....well....it's better than one.

How about we install 110,000 robot Michigan fans as well.

It's all about being able to say
"Yeah, we could HAVE to go outside, like other teams, to practice in crappy conditions, but WE just have some dood turn on the electron powered mechanical dohickeys and we have crappy weather INSIDE. Who else is THAT coool?"
