The story about him doing a set at the University of Iowa in I think '97 is legendary. He was doing bits about incest and hookers and people started to leave but the show was piping all over the building and outside. There were families there. The Shutdown Fullcast talked about it 2 summers ago. It's a great story.

"Saigon. Shit. I'm still only in Saigon. Every time I wake up I think I'll be back in the jungle. After my first tour it was worse. I hardly said a word to my wife until I said yes to a divorce."

This has nothing to do with the OP except whenever Saigon is mentioned I remember the beginning of Apocalypse Now. I read Heart of Darkness in  freshman lit class and it blew me away. Can not imagine a better movie version of that story than Coppola's.

Change "Saigon" to "Ohio" and enjoy your own mild laughter. A friend and I text this back and forth whenever we are forced to travel through that godforsaken state.

eg, "Ohio. Shit. I'm still only in Ohio." and "I was going to the worst place in the world and I didn't know it yet. Weeks away and hundreds of miles up I-75 along a highway that snaked through Ohio like a circuit cable.."
