Good times indeed:

If a recruit reading this board (RCMB) didn't come to MSU because of what random Interwebz posters said, that recruit is soft, and I don't want them anyway.

At the same time, if a recruit reads this board (RCMB) and still wants to come to MSU and play for Mark Dantonio, we are probably that recruit's best offer, and I thus do not trust them.

They've entered the acceptance stage.

By "Complete the Circle" does he mean that he has to get them back to where they were when they fired his predecessor?  I'd say that he is just about there.  A loss to Maryland would close that circle.

I think it's going to take another 2 years - at least - to get MSU back into a better position it was than when he found it. They are in for a very rough season next year.

I never said that they're on a good trajectory. But if they make changes and get a solid 2021 class and 2022 class, that's putting them back on a solid footing. They're in danger of falling behind everybody in our division sans Rutgers. Indiana isn't recruiting all that well, but they have a system and an identity. Maryland isn't recruiting all that well either, but they have some playmakers and I would think their recruiting will improve.

Their current roster is a disaster and the 2020 class is ranked 10th in the B1G. You do not win without a solid core of upperclassmen. Even should they recruit well in '21 and '22 (which is highly unlikely) that means they are, optimistically, 5 years away. This is not "solid footing" by any stretch on the imagination.

Honestly, if life is rough in East Lansing now, given where he's at and what he's losing, how can he think next year will be better?

(This would be confusing unless you understand the fact that he's just a bitchy old grump and isn't content unless someone pissed in his Cheerios that day. He's actually excited for next year's failure.)

I really think MSU looks like they're screwed for the next 3+ years minimum. Their recruiting sucks and they've lost a ton of guys too. If the same staff stays in place, there isn't much reason to think they'll be better next year or in 2021. We've seen time and time again that recruiting and depth matter, and those are both going to weigh heavily on MSU for a while

I win-win for us Maize and Blue faithful. Poor recruiting trend likely to continue for Sparty for years to come. A revamped Sparty offense next year won't fly because of a new QB with Lewerkey graduating an no good back up waiting in the wings. As we saw, a new offense takes time to develop with our team so it would also take lots of time for a new Spary offense to click. They will lack talent to execute it.

I think a 4-5 win season is almost likely next year. @Iowa, Michigan, OSU, Minnesota, @PSU are very very likely losses. @Indiana and Miami FL are not likely to be wins. But they have a chance. The only gimme is Rutgers. They go to Maryland and BYU. Toledo is not a MAC pushover, they are typically solid on offense. Then N'W to open the season. They need to start 3-0 to have a chance at bowl eligibility because after that, their schedule is pretty tough until they finish with Rutgers and Maryland.
