I hope i didn't miss his rant

Not on yet

Let's hope that his take on this hasn't been "changed" for him.

The lead-in at the top of the hour was Why Herbie says this is a witch hunt.
September 1st, 2009 at 7:09 PM ^
witch hunt FTW!!!!
September 1st, 2009 at 6:29 PM ^
It's on NOW
September 1st, 2009 at 6:32 PM ^
I agree with pretty much everything he said. Good on him.
September 1st, 2009 at 6:29 PM ^
and it starts....

Herbie (1) knows he is seen as a homer for OSU so he is usually careful about taking over the top cheap shots at Michigan and (2) knows the only way the Big Ten is going to regain national respect is if Michigan does. At the same time, this was a pretty strong statement ... "a witch hunt" and "insulting to Rich Rodriguez." Go Herbie, Go Herbie ...

Strong? Yes. The truth? Probably.
But let's face it. Somebody has got to come out strong in defense against this.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:16 PM ^
I think Steve Breaston would beg to differ on the lack of cheapshots.

Suddenly, I love Salsa Boy! Eh, no homo.

Herbie called out "a local newspaper" this time around. Bravo to him for actually understanding the issue and doing some homework (a rarity for the ESPN staff).
September 1st, 2009 at 6:41 PM ^
Well, I'm just about an hour and a half NE of CBus. Coming in to work on Monday was a frightful experience, but just about every OSU fan told me that this was bullshit. Not that they don't think we deserve to be ridiculed, but they understand this type of "journalism".
September 1st, 2009 at 6:45 PM ^
Give him extra points for not even using their name.
September 1st, 2009 at 6:34 PM ^
SO happy Herbie said what he did. I have NO idea why this has been a top topic for days now. Its quite ridiculous. Are we really THAT hated around the country???
September 1st, 2009 at 6:37 PM ^
If this was Vanderbilt it would have been over with days ago (as in the day after it came out).
September 1st, 2009 at 6:40 PM ^
We need to take ESPN to task. For the past few days, I've been listening to various ESPN reporters state as fact that *current* and former players have complained about the practice regiment. There is no evidence, whatsoever, that any current player has complained, right (as Hawthorn and Stokes were not complaining)? This seems to be the easiest point to contest. The words "current players" and "complain" have explicitly and repeatedly been used.

"I think it's a witch hunt. I think it's a local newspaper going after Rich Rodriguez, trying to find disgruntled players to say bad things about a 3 and 9 coach, worst record in school history. They're just trying to make things worse for him. I think they're out trying to get him. Trying to take him down. And to be honest with you, I think it's insulting to Rich Rodriguez."
Good on ya Kirk

Did anything else major get said?
September 1st, 2009 at 7:57 PM ^
That was the majority of the stuff he said about Michigan. They quickly moved on to his picks for two good matchup games to watch this weekend.

Great to see KH stick up for RR. After all, if it wasn't for KH, Les Miles might be the coach right now.
"Lest" anyone thinks I am endorsing Miles, I would be willing to bet that RR wins an NC before Miles wins another one.

Nice work Herbie Hancock!

I have to say I really don't like the guy but I was happy with what he said. He actually did his homework on this situation unlike what other guys have done on ESPN.
