Nothing pleases me more than Ohio D-line and O-line recruits, overlooked by OSU, coming to play at UM.  They bring attitude, understand the rivalry and what they are getting into, and we develop these two position groups as well as any team in the nation - not to mention the specific importance of dominating the line of scrimmage.

It's the ultimate win-win-win to get overlooked Ohio recruits paying in the trenches at UM.

"He looks like an odd front 3-4 end can play the six or the five tech," said 247Sports analyst Chris Singletary. "I think he can get to 280-290 pounds, solid athlete, he can get off the ball and there's still a lot of meat on the bone and it's encouraging that he's a four-sport guy. I could see him being like Mason Graham. You can tell he's fundamentally sound."

"Being like Mason Graham"....Yes please!

I was not saying that you said he will be a bust...I am saying he will not be a bust. In fact, watching his tape, if he were rated as a five star people would not question such a rating. He is playing against high level HS competition, making plays through double teams and playing sideline to sideline as much as you will see a DL play. This young man has a very high ceiling-and Elston gets kids there.

Seems like the kind of guy Elston turned into top lineman when he was at Notre Dame. I'm excited to see what our line looks like in the next few years. Recruiting has looked good so far under Elston, as has early returns on the field from those guys he brought in. We were a little light on pass rush this year, but Morris was a surprise standout and I wouldn't be shocked to see our D-Line take a major step forward with guys like Derrick Moore, Kenneth Grant, and Mason Graham taking a sophomore leap and McGregor fully back to playing shape. Future is bright!

Either St X or Moeller typically make the D1 state championship game every year from SW Ohio. St Ed's or St Ignatius usually represent NE Ohio.  These schools recruit very well and play top notch competition from all over the US.  He won't be overwhelmed against higher levels of competition.

The guy could be a top 150 kind of guy if he quit the other sports and strictly trained for football and developed his body. Harbaugh has found a sweet spot of undervalued, athletes like this. Once he comes to Michigan we will develop him into an elite d-lineman.
Land a few elite skilled players and fill in the roster with competitive, top multi-sport athletes and develop them once they get here.
I’m sure other coaches try this as well, but Harbaugh seems to be a great talent evaluator.
