"I'm committed to this team," Hart said. "This is who I am. I am Eastern Michigan. I coach at Eastern Michigan. I want Eastern Michigan to win every game. I don't cheer for Michigan ever anymore. I watch the game and I watch as a coach trying to see what they're going to do."

Well that's just fine Mike, I don't root for EMU ever either ;-b LOL

Everyday Mike Hart drives to A^2 just because he can eat at Blimpy. Even if the line is long. Mike Hart does daily stationary bike riding in the Law Quad. Because he can. Mike Hart will conceive his firstborn on the steps of the Union and have the child delivered at the Michigan President's Home. Because He is Mike Hart. Ignore the press when it comes to one Mike Hart. Mike Hart is smart and working his was up the ladder. That is all.

I think someone should get a closeup of Hart during Saturday's game when The Victors is playing to see if he is subtly, maybe even unknowingly, singing along.

He actually came by my house after the game on Saturday and stuck around and played a game of beer pong on our porch. I guess one of the kids who was there know one of Hart's buddies (or something along those lines). Anyways, Mike was a really cool guy even while everyone at the party was surrounding him. I saw him in college up close a few times (again, through a mutual friend) and it is amazing how much smaller he is now compared to back then. Anyways, that's my Mike hart story.

What we know about Mike Hart is that he wants to be in a coaching capacity at Michigan some day. Right now, he is paying his dues and working his way up. Every coach has to start somewhere and this is his start. He is still really young and will hopefully get a job at Michigan some day. He can't be a coach at EMU and say he hopes Michigan wins. Ron English would not be too happy about that and neither would the EMU players. He wants and needs a job, so he HAS to say what he said.
Now, of course in his heart he wants Michigan to win. I'm sure Ron English knows that, but it will never be discussed between them and Mike Hart will never say it publicly.

I would be surprised if Ron English also didn't hope in his heart that Michigan would do well.

I need to know how my post is flamebait.

I see him at the Jug all the time. Trust me, he is still Pure Michigan.

If Mike Hart was offered the same position at Michigan, he would walk to Ann Arbor. Literally!
September 12th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
would juke and dodge his way to Ann Arbor.

he'd be dragged down from behind at about State and Stadium. Granted, contact would have been made by Packard, but Mike could always get a couple more yards after contact.

Good for him; he's a true competitor and competitors stay focused on the task at hand. I wouldn't expect him to say any different. He very well could be a coach at Michigan someday with that kind of attitude.
And I also don't believe that he never roots for Michigan anymore. Hell, even Les Miles said "Go Blue!" during his LSU postgame press conference when he heard about the ND game.

There are nicer ways to say it, like...
"I will always love Michigan, but this is my team now and I'm here to beat every team we play."
You say things "I don't cheer for Michigan ever anymore" after you've coached at USC for 10 years or something.

...thats what I expect from a baller.

I'd fully support Tyrone Wheatley for FJ's replacement.

Obviously he's graduated from the Fred Jackson School of Hyperbole.

Mike's doing what he needs to do, and EMU's off to a great start this year. They're rushing for 330 and change a game.
In 5 years, Mike will be somewhere inside the Michigan program again...
