They play with Luka, who I believe is the most over hyped ball hog in the league, so they will never be given a chance to shine. Don't get me wrong, Luka is good, but I don't think he relies on his teammates very much.

I never said he was the biggest. The league is full of them. He is I believe 3 rd in the league in shot attempts currently. He also leads the Mavs in TO's. I'm sorry if my opinion doesn't match yours. I never said he wasn't good, I'm just not a fan of his game. I've watched him launch when teammates were in a better position to score. He has a lot of scorers around him, that's why he has good assists numbers, but I would take 10 other players before him.

So, he has a lot of scorers around him, which is why he has good assist numbers, but those scorers will never be allowed to shine (despite said assists)?   Makes sense.

Or you could just say "I don't like his game", which is fair enough.

I think Luka will come around when he's got a consistent supporting cast, unlike Harden and Westbrook, who've proven they can't or won't adjust their games.

As for "overhyped", I'd put Trae Young and Zion in that category ahead of Doncic based on initial results.

But I like watching Ja Morant over all of 'em.

Yup. Luka is the best player at his age I have ever witnessed. He’s so much more advanced than Durant/LeBron/Jordan at his age. His 3 will come around eventually, and it’s really not that bad to begin with (though it’s taken a plunge this year, it’s still a small sample size).

I think if he lost the baby fat, he’d be even better. He’s got that James Harden dad bod thing going on, but still comes out and shits on his defender.

It’s amazing. Burke in particular looked like he was about done in the league just 2-3 years ago. He’s finally found a nice role in Dallas.

Same story with Hardaway, who started out alright in NY before looking washed that first year with the Hawks. He’s rebounded magnificently since that first season in Atlanta and its great to see.

Its Dallas though and they are a great organization too to bottom (minus a scandal). Outside of the Spurs, I don’t think there is an organization as great as them in the league. They identify talent, maximize potential of role players and overlooked guys, and are not afraid to pull the trigger on trades to keep them competitive.

Now can they somehow manage to get Wagner from DC and Iggy from NY?

The most jaw-dropping part of this is that Burke put that up in 21 minutes.  Heat check.  Hope he's a Mavericks long enough for Luka to mature, Porzingis to stay healthy, and then play a key "microwave" role on a championship team.

He already earned one in college, even if it was taken away - that "foul" call will forever anger me.
