The born part really connects this statement to Ryan Day inheriting a program built by Meyer.

You're right Harbaugh said "standing".
The original saying is by Barry Switzer and it uses born instead of standing.
So don't listen to my dumb ass and stick with the Harbaugh version.

You know I don't think it was a slam on Ryan Day only. The baseball reference makes me think it was Steinbrenner buying off Drew Henson and the whole program benefited. So ultimately he was slamming Tressel, Meyer, AND Day.

I first thought of all the 5-stars and their coaches that thought talent alone is enough to win the game. OSU came into the game standing on 3rd base without doing the work to get there so the 3-stars from Michigan hit the ball hard and come into the game rounding second, barreling into 3rd while ready and determined to work their way home.

In Brittany we have a cartoon about the tight wad people in the southwest region (pays Bigouden) showing them hanging used toilet paper out to dry on the clothesline.
So it all depends on what you're hanging
