I really don’t care what he has to say. The man is clueless. Stop making excuses and win the big games! If we crush Rutgers this week some idiots are gonna say we are improving. I’m tired of this crap. It’s year 5! Win or leave!

No, but it's also not logical to assume zero improvement can happen 4 games into a season with a new offense and some young and/or injured players. I don't expect Michigan to compete for anything this year, but I don't expect them to look this inept by seasons end (Other than against Ohio State which looks likely to Wisconsin us.)

The comments are meaningless until we see an A performance against Iowa.

We've heard "just wait until the offense gets rolling" type stuff all season and by all accounts it looks like the worst offense in his tenure. Don Brown saying "we finally get to play Michigan defense", etc.

I'm not a strictly "say less, do more" person because I do enjoy some talking and trash talk. But right now, their word is basically meaningless until we see it

Harbaugh, the coordinators, players, are required to talk to the media every single week.

If he comes out and gives one word, non-answers the board says "he has no passion, no plan, same old coach speak"

If he comes out and accepts responsibility, says he's going to hold everyone accountable the board says "he's all talk, show me on the field"

If all you want to do is see it on the field, watch Saturday. Otherwise, imo, there was no better way to handle this press conference.

...that has nothing to do with my response.

Of course he has to talk. I'm just saying whatever he says will be meaningless until we see it.

Also, there seems to be this idea on here that because the players and coaches have to speak, whatever they say is warranted. That's simply just not true. Not saying that applies to Harbaugh's conference he just had, but just in general.

I think you're reading way too much into this, guy.

My point: we've heard a lot about this season about changes, and then also about how the team will regroup, etc. Well, all of that led into the Wisconsin game, and it was all worse.

It's great they're self reflecting and realizing it's not good right now, but it's still echoing what we heard after Army and the Bye week.

Ultimately their word is meaningless until we finally see it. And I can comment because it's the internet and I am allowed to.

I don't think firing Harbaugh is the answer, but I can't imagine he's enjoying this very much himself. Surely he thought things would go better when he took the job. I wonder how much more of this he can take and if he would ever resign.

More worryingly, I wonder how much more of this Brian Cook can take before HE resigns.

The failures of the team are definitely putting Brian in a position where there's not much left to say. At some point you'd just have to let it all go and write soulless objective outlines of the games but that doesn't make for a particularly desirable product to produce or consume.

If we keep looking like we don't have a pulse the entire season, I think you do have to start thinking about firing Harbaugh. This is a well recruited team full of players who have regressed from one year to the next and look completely lost on the field. That implies a serious issue in the coaching staff. And people are just going to stop showing up to games when the team looks like that.

It's year 5, and a coach making $9 million a year is giving a converted fullback meaningful snaps at DT.  Inexcusable no matter what kind of attrition you experience, attrition will always happen, and so will injuries.

Once every 2-4 years we will get a senior filled team that will give us a run.  The in-betweens will be this, that is what we are now.

I doubt both of them are lazy. It probably has more to do with mental mistakes. But at this point, you've gotta give them the chance. Yeah, a veteran OL will probably force them into mistakes but them learning on the job is better than a guy that is physically incapable of doing the job outside of clear/obvious passing downs.

Man, your intel is great and always appreciated. But, your emotionally laced comments after a poor Michigan performance are on par with the vast majority of useless complaining we traditionally have to wade through to find the interesting stuff on this board... and by interesting, I do mean your usual insidery tidbits. I hope we can all collectively be happy someday. This BPONE stuff sucks!!!

I'm not calling you out, but saying you guarantee there will be changes Saturday is not really an extreme notion. It's Rutgers. In the past this is the game we have seen changes to see how different players or different sets will work.

I'd prefer to see the team actually work on fixing some things with their starters against an overmatched opponent. Like, say, the QB's and WR's be able to read the opening in a zone or the O-line being able to protect against a stunt.
