Booted Blue in PA

Yes, this pic is a couple years old, in the event you're thinking, 'i've seen that before'.   Since I live in an apartment during the week & at home on weekends.... My bourbon collection is not all in one place these days.  Some bottles have been consumed, others have been added... The collection isn't drastically different today.

Nice collection and thanks for a reason to have a pour.

I recently picked up a bottle of the Ezra 7 year single barrel, so I’ll probably go with that or some Rock Hill.

Happy National Bourbon Day!!!!??

My wonderful MGoWife gifted me a bottle of Larceny Barrel Proof yesterday. So today I have enjoyed a finger of it and now enjoying some ECBP. Next will be OF 1920. If I feel like it, maybe some Eagle Rare.???

Grilled some steaks earlier now enjoying the beautiful evening.

GO BLUE!!!

I know many bourbon snobs look down on it for various reasons, but I like Maker's Mark pretty well as a decent option at a decent price - although it might be a tad overpriced now. Maybe it's just because it was one of the first bourbons I ever had so it has a bit of nostalgia, but if I can't decide what to have it's an easy option to fall back on.

Like what you like. Don't let snobs get you down. I'm not a big Maker's Mark fan, but one day I was outside in high heat and was offered a Makers that was in a cooler and on the rocks, and that was amazing at the time. Not how I normally drink bourbon by any means but at that time it was the perfect pour.

Just some recommendations based on my (limited) start to the hobby:

Cheap(ish):

  • Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond
  • Buffalo Trace
  • Henry McKenna 10yr

Higher:

  • Old Forester 1920
  • Elijah Craig Barrel Proof
  • Stagg Jr

Rye:

  • Old Forester Rye *
  • High West Double Rye ***

* IMO, best value to quality
