Yes, this pic is a couple years old, in the event you're thinking, 'i've seen that before'. Since I live in an apartment during the week & at home on weekends.... My bourbon collection is not all in one place these days. Some bottles have been consumed, others have been added... The collection isn't drastically different today.
Impressive collection to say the least...
Bourbon is my new hobby. Really appreciate all the input from the board.
Solid collection! Bourbon is my hobby as well. My strongest bottles are:
2018 Angels Envy Cask Strength
2019 Angels Envy Cask Strength
Michter's 10 year
Midsummer Nights Dram Scene 7 Act 4
Thomas H. Handy BTAC
Old Fitzgerald 11 and 15 year decanters
2020 Wild Turkey Master's Keep 17yr Bottled in Bond
I have the Old Fitz Decanters in 9yr, 11yr, 13yr and 14yr. I wasn't able to land the 15yr, yet anyway.
I think the 11 year is my favorite of the line up.
What's your top 3 in your collection?
Best Bourbon I've ever drank: William Larue Weller.
Favorite that's not insanely difficult to find: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and/or Wild Turkey Rare Breed
Most under rated bourbon: Jim Beam Black and/or Larceny.
Wild Turkey Rare Breed is simply superb!!! My most under rated are Very Old Barton and JTS Brown. For both $20 and under, they are great every day sippers.
Logged in just to voice my support for Larceny.
Oh man, as a passionate fan of Weller Special Reserve (the green label stuff for us commoners), I would be almost as excited to try Wm Larue as I would be to try some Pappy. Well, not exactly ... but it's up there.
Weller SR was a good bottle under $20, but now its $26+ when I can even find it. There are just better drinkers out there for that price, in my opinion.
Larceny for one, Eagle Rare (for a couple bucks more)
I have found that Larceny and Eagle Rare are definitely favorites with me. So many out there to try.??
Nice collection and thanks for a reason to have a pour.
I recently picked up a bottle of the Ezra 7 year single barrel, so I’ll probably go with that or some Rock Hill.
That's Ezra Barrel proof, right? Good stuff.
Correct
I had Rock Hill Farms tonight. That stuff is perfection when it has some time to open up.
Happy National Bourbon Day!!!!??
My wonderful MGoWife gifted me a bottle of Larceny Barrel Proof yesterday. So today I have enjoyed a finger of it and now enjoying some ECBP. Next will be OF 1920. If I feel like it, maybe some Eagle Rare.???
Grilled some steaks earlier now enjoying the beautiful evening.
GO BLUE!!!
Life is good.
i may not be a bourbon drinker, but i can still recognize a varsity sunday evening when i see one.
Thanks XM!! Hope you and your family are doing well up north. Have a great big beautiful Meeeechigan evening!!
A varsity evening. I love the phrase and plan to use it. Artists steal and all that
I’ll drink to that.
Bourbon gives me the shits. Clear liquids only!
Someone poisoned your bourbon, Comrade.....
I'm drunk just looking at that picture of Booker's
I know many bourbon snobs look down on it for various reasons, but I like Maker's Mark pretty well as a decent option at a decent price - although it might be a tad overpriced now. Maybe it's just because it was one of the first bourbons I ever had so it has a bit of nostalgia, but if I can't decide what to have it's an easy option to fall back on.
Makers is a nice wheated bourbon. A bourbon club I belong to had a barrel select of their private select expression and it was outstanding.
Like what you like. Don't let snobs get you down. I'm not a big Maker's Mark fan, but one day I was outside in high heat and was offered a Makers that was in a cooler and on the rocks, and that was amazing at the time. Not how I normally drink bourbon by any means but at that time it was the perfect pour.
