Hail to the Victors 2010

Submitted by rastafari on

Just got my copy in the mail yesterday. It took a few days but well worth it. It is well written and the best preview to the upcoming season for UM that you can find. I suggest you buy it and read it NOW!!

Warning:  Once you start...make sure you have no distractions..you will not want to put it down.

Last night I was like "I'll just read this one more section before I go to bed."

Naturally I didn't stop there and spent another 40 minutes reading.

Agreed.  I spent a great deal so far reading through it.  I've saved that "know thine enemy" section for last.

There were a couple of times where I wish there was an electronic version of it, so that I could perhaps view a video during the more dense topics of formations and the like.  Then I realized there's MGoBlog.

It was funny when I was reading articles by Jamie Mac and some of the other guys on here, I was almost expecting to see their mgoblog handles. It was a fantastic preview magazine though. I keep paging through it every few days.

I've been eagerly checking the mail all week to see if my HTTV 2010 was there.  Finally, today, there was an envelope in my mailbox with Maple Street Press on the return address, and "Hail to the Victors 2010" under my address.  I was so excited.

I rushed inside and like a kid on Christmas, ripped over the envelope.  This is where the joy ended.  Where I expected to find my copy of Hail to the Victors 2010, in it's place was "Here Come the Irish 2010."  Seriously.

Whoever fields customer service calls at MSP is lucky they were home from work by the time my mail got here on the West Coast.  I did send them an email letting them know I was disappointed and that I wanted my HTTV, pronto.  I did not actually use the word pronto.

Yes, this is just a mistake, but damn I had my hopes up, only for them to be dashed by none other than the Irish.  I just needed to share.

An anecdote from the roundtable. Greg Dooley mentions seeing Mike Martin in the Bentley Archives, the image of a defensive lineman wearing white archival gloves made me smile.

It was my birthday Saturday. My wife got me a copy and had me open it first. This, of course, delayed the opening of the other gifts as I read the first few pages. I absolutely love the opening lines from Brian. Well done.

The emphasis on Demar Dorsey makes me sad, but the rest of it rocks as usual.  Losing Dorsey just came at a bad time for publishing I suppose.  The previews in "Know Thine Enemy" scare me a whole lot.  It reminded me that this year could be brutal, and that a 7-5 regular season against this year's schedule would actually represent a significant stride forward.  With Iowa, OSU, and Wisky looking strong, and missing out on possibly two of the worst 3 teams, then add and up and coming UConn plus ND/PSU games away...   Ugh.

Make a bowl game and I think RR should keep his job for at least another year.  HTTV always clarifies.
