Gold Cup: USMNT vs. Haiti, 7:30pm CDT, FS1

Submitted by Wolverine In Iowa on

Match day two for group A.  USA should stomp Haiti, but of course....No idea what the starting lineup is yet, but that comes soon.  Panama is up 1-0 over Honduras at HT in the other group match.  USA would be safely through to the knockout round if they beat Haiti.

Hopefully some better play tonight than vs Honduras.  Haiti's tie with Panama really helps cement the path although in this era it should be a given in Gold Cup.

Agree 100% - I'm sorry, but unless he can get faster and better ball skills and play midfield, I'm okay with not seeing the light of day on the USMNT. Watching him play defense is infuriating and has been for quite some time.

Tuned in and I find MMA, who posts times CDT on a Michigan blog? I say this as someone who lives in Mountain, cater to the majority of the blogbase aan post times in Eastern.

Really interested to see how Ream plays. Back to back Bolton Player of the Year. I've interviewed him a few times for Yanks-Abroad, really nice guy. Can play LB as well

...and 3 forwards on the field together.

Not sure I like the pairing of both Johannsson and Altidore, but interested to see how it goes.

I'd like to see this lineup with a healthy Bedoya in Diskerud's role, Mix or a rested Zardes in Dempsey's role, and Dempsey in Johannsson's role.

And the chemistry throughout is poor, I feel like I'm watching the first half of a NBA all-star game. No energy. No chemistry.

Just poor play.

IMO, he's a situational or matchup type player.

I'd only play him when I'm winning by 2 goals and I've got 1 forward in because I'm playing heavy in the back. Or I'd play him against aggressive/attacking teams that push forward - that way he has more time in their back end to possess the ball and make a move without having to do it in so much traffic.

IMO, he's worth having on the team. But I'm not starting him unless it's against a pressing/attacking type team who's going to leave holes in the back.

With AJ, JA, and CD you have no one who can pass the ball in the front. Zero playmaking.

Would much rather see Mix or Zardes playing in place of AJ or JA where either can use his vision (that Mix hasn't shown tonight) to create plays.

I feel like I'm watching a basketball team with 3 centers on the floor.
