Gers v Bucknut BBall game
Well, Gers is for real. They looked very good until the B1G refs decided to take over. Probably the worst officiated game of the year. Gers big guy fouls out while just standing still with his hands straight up in the air. Meanwhile, OSU hacks every time Gers drives the lane and almost never gets called. I can't believe how bad B1G can be.

Downvote for use of multiple gers.

OP is going to burn out his clutch.

Really grinds my gers

Home cooking continues in the B1G - what a fuck job on Rutger.

I always assumed the home cooking was in large part due to the crowd, guess not.

Is typing out Rutgers really that difficult?
December 23rd, 2020 at 6:43 PM ^
Yeah, RTF?!!

Rutgers, The University of New Jersey. There, better?

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey!

Ya’ll got it wrong. It’s “Rutger”... no more, no less.

When Rutger gets too intoxicated...

I know this would never happen, but that’s the kind of ref jobbing that if I were a coach would cause me to take an iPad to the press conference and go through in detail pointing out all the inconsistent calls and calling out the refs who call or didn’t call them by name. Pikiell should have taken the tech earlier, honestly.

It’s this really a thing? Does anyone actually call them “Gers”? This is so stupid.
December 23rd, 2020 at 7:30 PM ^
Lol I was wondering the same thing. Well actually, at first, I was trying to figure out who the hell "Gers" was. Then I was wondering why anyone would use such a stupid nickname like that for Rutgers.

When I first saw the title I assumed he was talking about the BadGers.
December 23rd, 2020 at 8:32 PM ^
No kidding, it started out as Rutgers, then Rutger, now it's just Gers?
What's next the G's? Tonight the G is for getting hosed.
December 23rd, 2020 at 8:31 PM ^
Come on OP, it's Buttgers, not Gers
December 23rd, 2020 at 8:48 PM ^
nobody says ‘gers.’ stop doing that.

Illinois shot 28 free throws to 7 for Penn State and Illinois was the visiting team. It appears that the reffing is just wildly inconsistent and lopsided.

At first glance I read it as “Gens” and thought it was an abbreviation for the Washington Generals.
Too many abbreviations and use of initials at times.

Gers
What does a Scottish soccer club (Rangers FC) have to do with college basketball?

Stop trying to make “fetch” happen.

Had no idea what the fuck you were talking about OP, and I even had the game TV
December 23rd, 2020 at 9:58 PM ^
That ‘Ini vs ‘Ions game had lopsided reffing as well!

Apparently the Rutgers center accused the refs of gambling on the game and cheating in some tweets that were taken down shortly thereafter.

I watched about half of this game on and off. The difference in the game wasn't the refs (fouls were evenly split). It's that Rutgers only really goes 6-7 players deep. When you don't ever go to your bench you will eventually get yourself into foul trouble.
Rutgers started off hot and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in the second half. Ron Harper Jr. is a great player, but just stopped scoring, especially when their PG got hurt after an awkward landing on a drive to the basket.
Rutgers starting five is solid though.

Evenly split fouls = Good officiating??? The fouls called on Rutgers (particularly on their center) were total BS. The center got his 4th foul for a moving screen when he was completely stationary and then got fouled out standing straight up with his arms and hands vertical --- there was no contact. Meanwhile on key possessions no call for clear fouls on OSU. I had no rooting interest in this game, but was amazed by how inept the officiating was. Total shit show and it decided the game.

Wait, are you talking about Gers?
