The Game Knows (a going pro in something other than sports success)

Jordan Taylor retweeted this last night and I thought the board would really enjoy reading.

Trying to balance not going full clickbait and not spoiling anything, former Alabama backup catcher Jordan Patterson shares that despite never starting, working her butt off at practice and being a damn good teammate (plus a very fortunate foot in the door family-wise) ends up paying off long after her final game ends.

I really enjoyed her story and think the message is great, doubly so for anyone with a connection to a younger athlete who might be struggling like she was.

Bonus question: Her core message is that the game knows who to reward; who comes early and stays late and has a true passion for it. Anyone have their own experience with that?

I'm sure most of us have experience with people who were born on third and think they hit a triple. Work ethic is great, and often pays off, but not always, and often the opposite is true just based on who your family is.
