Fulmer out as Tennessee Coach
Tennessee just announced that head coach Fulmer will not coach the '09 season. This could mean big things for their recruits, as far as moving around. They have some big names like
Tajh Boyd - who just committed
Je'Ron Stokes - WR
Jerod Askew - LB
Marlon Walls - LB
D.J. Hunter - DB
David Oku - RB
I'll keep you updated if any news comes in.

Yeah I was puzzled at Boyd's commitment, but perhaps he knew something that we didn't know at the time. Tennessee actually has enough pieces to run the spread offense; I expect them to give Mike Leach a big look.

This is funny given this quote following his commitment regarding Fulmer's status:
“I know people are talking about that, but when I spoke with Coach Fulmer and their athletic director (Mike Hamilton), they told me they didn’t think anything was going to happen,” Boyd said. “Plus, I have to like the school in general. And I love the school.

There were the last team out there that reminded me of our final Carr years. It was therapeutic to watch them be stuck in mediocrity, without a chance of winning it all...but still getting just enough recruits to give them hope.
To see that kind of team from the outside looking in...oh man, it was good while it lasted.
