What’s everyone drinking tonight?

The first place Wolverines are currently taking on the third place Wildcats on ESPNU in a big series on the softball diamond.

Began the night with a Michter’s 20 Years Old Single Barrel Bourbon. With my dinner, had the 1961 Chateau Latour. The dinner itself was pretty simple surf and turf: Lobster Thermidor and a 16oz. Kobe Beef Ribeye cooked rare and sliced extra thin. Finished it all off with a Dow Vintage Port 1975 and a Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona (Cuban, of course).

And then… I woke up. Oh well, Abita Purple Haze followed by Miller High Life it is.

Cheers to all!

this is probably the first national level pitcher michigan has seen all season (with a solid team behind them), due to no non conference season.. hopefully they figure it out

Oberon, PBR, and Woodford Reserve

As a Michigan boy who spent years in Kalamazoo, now living in Ohio, Oberon is a nice reminder of home.

Not a good night for Michigan Softball. We couldn't solve the Northwestern pitcher other than a late-inning solo HR and a bunt single and lost 4-1.

Time to regroup for the rest of the weekend series.  Minnesota and Northwestern are nipping at our heels in the B1G race.

Apothic Dark red wine blend, which was on sale at the LCBO. First drink I've had in about a month thanks to some hopefully minor health issues.

In memory of my father, who passed away a year ago at the age of 98 (tonight is his "Yartzeit," the anniversary of his death, which is a Jewish commemoration), my wife and I started with a little Balvenie, his favorite Scotch (actually, his favorite beverage of any kind though I think my mom liked it even more). Then I moved to Weller and my wife stuck with Balvenie. For dinner we had an Alsatian wine, the closest we had to a German Mosel, to celebrate my mom, who was born along the Mosel in Trier, Germany. My wife actually prefers drier wines, but she always enjoys a good Mosel to honor my mother.

Nice comeback with the double-header sweep today, complete with an Allan walk-off three-run home run. It's great to see her doing so well after sticking through injuries her first two years here.

Michigan leads the conference at 23-5 with tomorrow's game remaining against Northwestern, four at Minnesota in two weeks, sandwiched between Penn State and Rutgers, the two bottom teams in the league.

Minnesota is at 23-7 and leads Iowa late in their nightcap this afternoon (Iowa won the first game). Northwestern is 22-9 and has already played Minnesota.
