Should be a great pickup and replacement for Schofield (another Big 10 guy lost during offseason) in the DL rotation. If anyone is questioning why so high in the draft it's the wingspan & basketball-like athleticism. They love guys on defense with long limbs, decent power, and versatility (left/right). Frank better come to work! He will be drilled and challenged as he's never been in camp. As the #1 pick for the Hawks and playing defense he has a serious target on his back. SERIOUS as in Earl and Sherm screaming down his neck. Good luck Frankie!
Best of luck to Frank here in Seattle. If there's one guy who knows defensive talent, it's Pete. Hope Frank turns out to be a great player and MAN. Keep your head on straight and compete Frank.
Hopefully he is done stealing laptops and beating up girlfriends. I wish him the best of luck and hope he has learned from his mistakes... Perhaps he will redeem himself.

While I wish Clark the best in his NFL career, I really didn't expect to see him drafted until at least late in the 4th---not late in the 2nd. I didn't see the consistancy in his play he's going to need in the NFL, where he'll be going up against much better opposition four more games per season.
Just for comparison's sake with another B1G player with "issues": Randy Gregory of Nebraska was taken by Dallas just a few slots ahead of Clark and is rated much higher by most experts. Completely different "issues", to be sure---violence and larceny vs. recreational weed smoking, but does anyone here really think Clark has the ability and potential that Gregory has?
His domestic violence charges were reduced to misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges in early April, so the legal concerns around him had cleared up. He was a pretty good player for us, one of our best defensive players. And his combine numbers were off the chart.
He put up the best 60-yard shuttle time for a DL in almost a decade. His 20-yard shuttle time was easily the best at the combine for any DL, his 3-cone drill was 2nd at the combine by .01, and his vertical jump was also 2nd at the combine.
You can argue till you are blue in the face about whether you should put stock in combine numbers or not, but clearly Pete Carroll does. I personally think teams overvalue them, but in this case you have a player who showed some pretty decent production (12 TFL last year, 13.5 TFL for -75 yards this year) and has great measurables. He could do some things. I'm surprised he went in the 2nd round, but I actually was expecting someone to grab him much earlier than he was being projected.
