"Founders' Keeper" by Ed Markham (Mgoblogger)

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

Ed is an author and Mgoblogger that created a post about a yr ago (?) to introduce the sale of his book, "Founders' Keeper" to the board.  Anyway, I finally finished it today and wanted to congratulte him on creating an exciting read and some great characters.

Also, upon finishing I noticed that he has written a few more books starring the same characters that the board may enjoy.

Congrats, Ed for creating a world that's fun to get lost in.

Wow, I had completely forgotten that the author was an MGoBlogger!  I've read and enjoyed the first 2 books.  Thanks for the heads up about the 3rd one.

Do we have any other author's on the board?  I'm thinking of writing a couple of scifi books once I retire. I have a notebook full of ideas.

Been putting together a story for the past year and a half now by mapping everything out. I started writing the story in February and I'm about 30k words in. My job keeps interfering but I am determined to finish this thing this year. Would love to pick at a real authors brain to figure out the next steps after I complete the book - if anyone has any advice there I am all ears

I finished writing a book in December and need to start the editing process. If anyone fancies themselves an MGoEditor and would like to give feedback on things like plot, tone, pacing etc. let me know. It is a booze soaked coming of age story set amid a road trip.

I'm "Ed Markham," which is a pseudonym. I work as a magazine journalist, so I try to keep these thrillers separate from my professional writing. (My real name is Markham Heid. Ed was my grandfather's name, and now it's also my second son's name.)

I'm at a loss for words here. Everyone on this board was awesome and supportive when I posted about my book last year during the off-season, but I never expected it to come up again. I'm almost getting emotional sitting at my desk and seeing this. If this isn't an example of the Michigan Difference (and the MGoBlog Difference), I don't know what is.

I'd love to pay this kindness forward somehow. If anyone here is thinking about writing a book, or would like information about any aspect of book publishing or self-publishing, I'd be happy to share what I know. You can reach me at [email protected]. LLB, thank you again.

I will probably take you up on that "Ed".  I've been extremely fortunate (lucky?) in the business world so I'm now looking  at a very early retirement with the intent being to write a book on my experiences.  Good to know a fellow MgoBlogger & alum has already been down that road and is willing to give directions to the neophytes.

My name is Don Hubbard and my email is [email protected].  Thanks in advance and now I've got to buy and read your books!
