Football Is Back!

Submitted by turtleboy on

This is the annual Football-Has-Begun-But-Nobody-Created-A-Thread Thread. The Detroit Lions are taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Gotham City's stadium, for some strange reason (they've fixed it up rather nicely) and tonight we see the professional debut of one Jake Rudock at qb and Graham Glasgow. Scoreless most of the way through the 1st quarter, and well into the 2nd string.

Discuss actual football..

We've had an early Fitzgerald Toussaint sighting.

The first play I turned on saw James Harrison making a strip sack. Same ol' Lions...

Defense is going to be really good. I have no idea what you're talking about. Front seven is one of the best in the league if Levy is healthy. They have some good young corners and Glover Quinn is really good. Only question on the defense is the Strong Safety position but should be a top 5 defense overrall.

Keep spewing what the national media tells you about the Lions. They cleaned house in the FO and addressed many of the issues of last year. If you can't give this team a chance and expect the playoffs with a Quaterback as good as Stafford, then why even be a fan? Look up Stafford's stats from last year. He is a top qb in this league.

I tuned in just in time to see Dan Orlovsky throw the pick six - that's how I knew football was back and that it was going to be another awesome year as a Lions fan.

Having said that, just now Roberts just waltzed clumsily into the end zone to potentially make it 14-10 Steelers (assuming the review holds, PAT, etc...), so there's that.

Glasgows looked really good in run blocking. Pass pro was a little more shaky, looks like the quicker guys were giving him some problems.
