The OSU/IU is going to be "MEGACAST" on the ESPN networks like the National Championship game. Frickin crazy, but this means you'll have various options to watch the game if you don't want to hear the announcers for 3.5 hours.

I wouldn't mind us opening the season with a B1G game against a Rutgers or Illinois someday.

We used to do it, too.

1996 was the last time. And then a period of every year from 1971-1982 the season opener was a B1G game.

No thanks, but I'd love to have a tradition of opening the season vs. ND, the B1G season versus MSU, and of course the final regular season game of the year versus OSU.

I could get into/understand if we played ND home/away every other year as well. So we go to South Bend next year, OFF in 2019, they come to A2 in 2020, OFF in 2021, we go to South Bend in 2022.

This way all players get a taste of the rivalry in both venues if they stay at least 3 years AND both schools have a shot to schedule other big time schools in those odd years.

OSU is doing this so that they have more flexibility to schedule their bye week, as getting in the 9 B1G conference games cuts down on open weekends later in the season.  Bama has been doing this for quite a while - sometimes even doubling down and playing two early conference games so they have a bye and a cupcake in the middle of the SEC schedule.  I would not be surprised if we start throwing in a B1G opponent in what was traditionally the non-conference season to have the same flexibility, although it doesn't have to be week one.

Dave Revsine was just on with Mark Packer.  Says Minn lost a lot and was not impressive at all when they visited there on their tour.

Also said Michigan has lots of talented guys that are right there with osu but with so many new players, they are a big question mark.  I trust many of those "questions" will be answered Saturday.

In addition to the games OP listed, Shane Morris is expected to get the start tonight for Central Michigan against U. Rhode Island. That game kicks off at 7:00 PM on ESPN3. Our pal Marcus Ray is doing the color commentary. Here's to hoping we see Shane get his first collegiate touchdown tonight!

This Penn St. love?? Maybe the majority of us here are just wrong and they will be as good as everyone thinks, but man, I can't help but feel they were lucky as shit last year. Sure seems like they should take a step back. Guess we'll see soon!

I'll watch the IU game, naturally. But if OSU is up 35-0 in the first quarter as I fear, I'm changing the channel and I'm not feeling guilty about it. Also, if the ESPN announcers could contain at least HALF of their orgasms over anything OSU related, it would be most appreciated.

Makes sense...just a habit. Because on Saturday that list is obviously crazy long if you don't take them out. Plus a lot of cupcake time games.

Anyway, thanks for pointing it out...I want to see Shane so I'll have to put it on the iPad or pull it on on the Fire Stick.

I cannot stand the automatic ejection rule. It's such bull shit. A second offense? Sure, eject the kid, but one offense is total crap. If they want to get serious about the targeting, make the first offense a 20 or more yard penalty with automatic first down. The second offense will be the same plus ejection.
