Fiesta Bowl open thread

As much I would love to see a great game I almost want to see a blowout and the AP vote go to the winner of this game. I hate the BCS.

That was the most obvious offensive P.I. call i've seen in awhile. The DB was in better position then the receiver and he was playing the ball. That's BS. Come on Frogs! EDIT: Beat me to it.

This bowl should be called the Non-BCS Conference FBS Championship Game, otherwise known as Who The Hell Cares? Bowl. This is a completely useless game for the BCS and these two teams. If either team wants to justify their ranking or their conferences' argument for a BCS bowl auto bid, they they have to be playing teams in the BCS conferences in BCS bowls. I much rather would have liked to have seen Florida/Cinci vs BSU/TCU. If TCU or BSU would have defeated either Florida or Cinci, there would have been a huge shake-up in the BCS. I don't know if the Florida/Cinci game was a conference tie-in BCS game. If it wasn't, then it seems like the BCS scheduled the Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl to quiet the playoff talk. This year's BCS bowl schedule does nothing to instigate playoff talk. Maybe only if Cinci would have defeated Florida would the playoff talk begin again.

I gotta say, this TCU offense looks quite familiar...... Makes you wonder - if we ever get a solid defense, how good can we be? TCU played in a conference that ended with 3 ranked teams this year and sent at least 4 to bowl games.

Maybe it's the slow pace of the game, but the piss poor Fox broadcast is really starting to get to me. EDIT: and look how they cut away before the fumble!

Its a terrible game to watch, but I blame fox. I hardly know there is a game going on. 90% of the time I just get crowd shots, great looks at the fat chicks next to the band.

So I see the stripped "fumble" by Boise a couple minutes ago. I've seen this a lot more the last few years - someone is stood up, not allowed to hit the ground, and the ball is stripped. I'm wondering if this means a refinement in running strategy: you keep your legs pumping, but at some point, you're better off going down. If you stay up, you are likely to have the ball stripped. Thoughts?

The Texas Tech receivers are so much better at blocking than either of these teams. But then again maybe they looked so good b/c of the MSU secondary.
