Fairley to NFL- does this open a spot for Frost at Auburn?

Submitted by MGoGarbs on

I freely admit I'm not up to speed on scholarship rules. Anyone know if Fairley's departure will give Frost his spot?

I'm sure the coaches anticipated both Newton and Fairly leaving.  I am also beginning to wonder if Frost just says "forget Auburn." When you commit to a school and then they don't get back to you in a week, why stick with them.

Frost, our helmet has wings.

Not sure, but I think it has to do with the yearly max of 25... I'm not sure why they just don't oversign like every other team in the SEC and ruin  kids lives. Whatever.

Edit: They have 17 currently so this is not the case. No idea why they can't take Frost.

I don't want Ole Miss to go without mention here, either. They signed 115 in the past four years (37!! in 2009), and already have another 26 committments for this year.

Auburn was recruiting him as a linebacker who would be temporarily allowed to try out WR. They were able to flip Brent Calloway on Saturday, and he was a LB who had previously committed to Alabama. This took away the spot Auburn had been holding for Frost in their class.

It was basically a "Whoever commits first gets the roster spot" situation, and Frost arrived a bit late.

Hopefully this works out well for us.

... Oversign to anticipate extra scholorships when players leave for the draft, im sure they were ready for this. It shouldn't change the status for frost at auburn

why in the hell is he still considering them? he's been publicly embarrassed by the school. he should say screw them and go to the school that made room for him.

is so embarrassed from making a mis-declaration on national TV that he's hoping their eventual taking him would wipe that out.

Considerations might be that a defensive-minded coach wouldn't give him a try at WR, which was his hope.  But I do hope Hoke can persuade him he's far better off here.  Would love to have him come back.

Frost sees the light and ditches Auburn.  They've treated him like dirt.

I also hope Fairley breaks a leg, literally.  He's such a dirty player and his style of play will come back to haunt him in the NFL, especially from guys who went to UGA.

Ugg... pisses me off that a guy like that will get paid millions.

/end rant, sorry, cannot stand Fairley.
