Exclusive Interview w/Jim Harbaugh Post National Championship

SIAP, but this is too good not to share!  If you have 14 minutes, this is a must watch.  We may have a coach in the future that is as good as Harbaugh but it is hard for me to believe that we will ever have a coach that will be better than Harbaugh.  I know that is a bold statement but seeing where he has taken our program and the passion in which he talks about the University and his team has taken the Michigan Man mantra to a whole new level.  Go Blue!

He spends a lot of time talking about his family, especially his dad. That's truly heartwarming.

This is a bit random, but the one aspect in which I genuinely feel for Ryan Day (and anyone else who had to deal with something so traumatic) is the fact that he lost his father to suicide when he was a young child. He never got to experience the kind of father-son relationship that Harbaugh had with his dad. Rivalry aside, what was probably most painful for Ryan Day about last night was having to watch Harbaugh share that moment with his parents. I enjoy Buckeye tears, but not those tears.

Man your words cut deep and are so true.  I couldn't help but notice how much Jim talked about family last night.  The last 3 years have been amazing but the best part of it all has been the experiences I have been able to build with my son.  As a matter of fact, my fandom for Michigan has grown because of the opportunities I have had to experience victories and defeats with him.  It is amazing what sports can do to a human being and after watching Michigan win a championship last night my Michigan fandom has reached an all time high!  Go Blue!

This is what the "I don't get it, it's just a game" people don't understand. My sons and I bond over our shared love of Michigan and the 49ers. My favorite part about going to the Rose Bowl and watching us beat 'Bama was the memories that experience created for my boys. They will remember that trip, the electric atmosphere, and the joy we all felt for the rest of their lives. When I'm gone from this earth and my kids are left with only their memories of me, that incredible experience will be among those memories.

To me, that's what sports fandom is about.

IMO, Day needs to leave OSU for his mental health. I mean this earnestly. That fanbase is a pressure cooker of unrealistic expectations and fanaticism.

As someone battling his own mental health issues I fully understand the impact that stress can have. I hope for his sake that he at least has a strong support system to help him.

I've always had the sense that Day is not cut out for that job, and I mean that in a complimentary way. His demeanor over the course of his entire tenure has struck me as that of someone who is trying to be something they're not. He thinks he needs to be a no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners tough-guy asshole (a la Woody Hayes) in order to be a successful head coach at Ohio State, and he's just not that guy. That's what was so bizarre about his postgame rant at Notre Dame. It just seemed unnatural.

I also didn't know this about Ryan Day. I'm guessing Jim didn't either, and he was clearly talking only professionally about being handed the team from Tressel, but the whole idea of "born on third base" probably hurt in a lot of ways Harbaugh didn't intend when he had such a terrible start to life. I feel awful now.

OSU getting fat and lethargic from eating hater tots and drinking the hater-ade

anyone else have an OSU friend?  There was a huge new wave of hate and conspiracy yesterday and today amongst them.

Please stay Jim.....  But I won't be mad if you leave now.  You did what you came back to do.

And It was glorious!

"Ever" is a long time and a long yardstick of measure. He's exceptional, and there have been some others in the past, Yost, notably.

I hope he stays, and stays and stays and stays.

I have it on good authority that long distance moving of chickens may re-ignite their nervous nature. Their soothing effect may be lost and therefore a chicken farmer should stay where he is!

Right XM?

I loved this, every minute of it. The raspiness in his voice spoke volumes of the love and regard he has for this team, for Michigan Football.

The way he expressed the pride in his father's embrace and being able to give this gift to his parents, I loved it.

I gotta say-Harbaugh is widely seen as a polarizing figure.  My question is-why?  He comes across as genuine, which is more than I can say for many (most?) head coaches at major programs.  I think he’s likable.  I’d love to have a beer with him…
