Even Rosenberg Says Big Ten is Acting Silly

Even the guy (Michael Rosenberg) who spearheaded the takedown of Rich Rod over stretching thinks the Big Ten's approach to penalizing Michigan without due process is an, ahem, stretch!

Didn’t put the Astros connection to Pettiti together until this - surprisingly well articulated article. Haven’t seen anyone else criticize Haller’s statement until now, too.

honestly, pettiti seems weaker and weaker by the minute

He needed to say something like ‘we are very concerned about the allegations and insist on an NCAA investigation’ but no he let the mob take over and now its spiraling on him. Now theres an article in AP News about how the whole league is ‘cheating’ with sign sharing and everyone is pissed.

Harbaugh not linked to Stalions. Day not linked to PI firm.

B1G and NCAA may have to just let sleeping dogs lie unless they want Michigan to raise a lot of hell regarding stolen signs, practices being filmed, etc.

suspend Harbaugh you may have to suspend a lot of other coaches

Good stuff here:

The desire for answers is totally justified. The urgency to act is based on flimsy rationalizations. Michigan State athletic director Alan Haller reportedly worried his players would be injured because Michigan players knew where they would be going. If stealing signs puts players’ health at risk, then how come it is legal to do it during games? Are we supposed to believe that a game built around repeated violent collisions is acceptably safe unless one team has advanced warning that the other team is calling a pass play?

Where was this voice of reasoning on many of the things he addresses last week? Some of these are not new news.

But, this topic is dying down except for B1G wanting to keep it up there. Idiots.

This story is absolutely not dying down.  It’s just that journalists not in on this take down are realizing the BIG is about to do something INSANE and are trying to get them back from the brink.

There will be several articles in the next day or so that say “wait, wait, hold up hold up, don’t ACTUALLY do this.  We weren’t serious like that.”
