ESPN2 Reverse Mirror

Submitted by JamieH on

I asked this originally in the UConn thread but I haven't seen an answer yet.   Does the ESPN2 reverse mirror of B1G ABC regional games extend to the prime-time games?  I'm stuck in Big12 country so we are getting Texas vs K-State on ABC.   I know the noon and 3:30 B1G games automatically go to ESPN2 if they aren't on ABC regional in my area, but does that happen for the prime time matchup as well?

Anyone out west who is definitely getting the Texas-KSU game could call their cable provider and ask about ESPN game plan.  Might give you a 1 week trial, especially if you mention that you're considering changing to DirecTV/FIOS/U-Verse/Cable/etc.

I'm fairly certain it carries every regional ABC/ESPN game.  It is a subpar package generally, especially for Big Ten fans due to the Big Ten's mirroring agreement.  That's why I wouldn't necessarily want to buy the whole package, but if you can talk them into a freebie or a preview weekend, it would be worth it.

I emailed our local ABC channel in Wisconsin and they did confirm that they are showing the Michigan game this Saturday regardless of what it says on my guide.

If I wasn't going to be able to watch this game, I would be one pissed off dude.

However, luckily for me, as a DTV subscriber since 1995, when they 1st started showing the local affiliates on DTV, the San Diego channels weren't available yet and I was able to get the NY & LA ABC & NBC affiliates and now I'm grandfathered in and can keep them for the fee I pay every month, this BS is finally paying off after all these years, as I'm sure the NYC ABC affiliate will show our game, whew!

My overall solution, fuck you UConn and don't ever schedule a game with these assholes ever again! What a fucking cluster fuck this is for one of the hugest fan bases anywhere.

change the game time to 9:00AM. The entire country should get the game at that time.

BTW, I suspect after Michigan pathetic showing against Akron the Michigan brand has been tarnish significantly. The interest in watching Michigan football nationally has waned. Networks know this.

Hell they are televising Alabama against Colorado ST. That is a bigger mismatch than Michigan vs Akron.

...will be pretty unruly if the game isn't available at the usual local establishment.  I have a feeling there will be a way to watch on DirecTV.

We don't care about Texas -- and most of the UT alums around here are starting to agree with us.

Yeah I'm the original poster and I'm from Austin.  That's the problem--I know our ABC is getting the Texas game.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to get the game on DirecTV because I think the game is available on ESPN Gameplan.  But not many people have Gameplan anymore because, for the most part it has no games that anyone ever wants to see.
