From ESPN.com's College Football senior writer Bruce Feldman: "I know there's been rumors about Tate Forcier possibly considering transferring. I talked to Forcier's dad, Mike this afternoon who was pretty surprised by the rumors." "I'm not a fan of transferring," Mike Forcier said. "It didn't serve us very well before." (Tate's two older brothers transferred and didn't end up winning starting jobs) Feldman continues: "He said if his son were to be thinking of transferring it'd be ludicrous." "We like the coaches," the elder Forcier said. "I don't think there's anything to (the rumors). The rumor mill at Michigan is unbelievable but that's what makes Michigan, Michigan."

I don't either. But this is seriously getting out of hand. This is all Defran's fault for spending about an hour on this issue yesterday on the Huge Show on WTKA.

it is one thing to be critical. It is another to be downright uninformed and irresponsible. His shows the last couple weeks, especially this week regarding the Tate stuff has been way out of line and the criticism of RR, especially regarding the Purdue coach fiasco was beyond ridiculous.

IIRC, Defran got his start at either 1050 or 1600 in A2 over 20 years ago. I don't understand where his loyalty went, and why he would try to help sabotage a program that has made a lot of money for him over the years. It's not like it is making him friends or money; where is his payoff for being such a moron?

I don't know how you could argue, though, that Jason made a bad decision in transferring. He wasn't going to see meaningful playing time here. And it's not like he could have foreseen last year's QB fiasco happening, either.

Forcier was 3rd string at best while he was here. There was no way he was going to compete for the starting job. Sorry, if you think otherwise, you weren't paying attention. If you want to see the field, aren't satisfied with holding a clipboard and wearing a headset when you want to be playing football, and you see Chad Henne and Ryan Mallett in front of you, probably best to go elsewhere. I don't think that's too extreme.

am I the only one who is really bothered that Tate and Forde are on texting terms? just kind of creepy. shrug. although, maybe it's the best chance the Big Ten has of gaining respect from ESPN's number one SEC Ballwasher.

Probably Forde texts Tate: "Are you transferring y/n?" and Tate texts back, surprised, "No!" Personally, I'm okay with the texting. It seems like a relatively safe way for Tate to succinctly comment and allows him to easily ignore questions by not responding. It does open up the possibility that he might get psyched out by some of the questions, but isn't that also the case if he were to, I dunno, use a computer and check the internet?

yeah, i mean, it works in this case, as it helps to clear up this rumor, BUT, i'm still not comfortable with it. I was also, of course, referring to the thing from earlier this year when tate sent forde a text saying he was accepting total fault for a loss. just kind of weird... ...seems like something Pryor would do (not accepting fault, that is... but being sure to communicate with a major media contact right out of the locker room after a game...) i dunno. it's not a big issue, really. just an observation.
