Uh....didn't Snyder just write something on this for Freep? Not trying to take anything away from this amazing story and I'm pulling for the kid.

After the devastating events Austin has been through, it's good to know he will receive a lot of support by being part of the MIchigan family. It sure will be easy to root for this kid.

I think he knows it is going to be a tough road ahead and I hope he gets all the support the Michigan family can give him. It is a terrible thing to have your parents die tragically. I know I am rooting for him to recover. No matter what, he seems like a fighter that has a bright future.

I can't even imagine what this kid has had to go through. Just an amazing amount of loss. The sole survivor of a family of 5. I also love to hear what he said about Coach Beilein. This is another example that illustrates what a classy guy Beilein is. I hope this kid can bring it all together and get where he wants to go. His basketball career could serve as a tribute to his family and it looks as though that's his intent. What a great story it would make in terms of perserverence in the face of monumental adversity.

I mean this in the most respectful way possible, and I'm not trying to be a dick I'm legitimately curious...What do you think his level of play will be if he suits up for us? I mean will he be as effective as he was before the accident? Obviously it's a wonderful story I'm just curious what effect he could have.

Brutal quote from the article:

"The most difficult thing is just missing my biological family, because I'm the only one left," he said. "I wish there was an instructional manual in how to deal with this kind of loss."

We've focused so much on his personal injuries that we can easily forget about the horrible emotional pain he must have also gone through. What a kid.  He'll be a fan favorite, for sure.

This kid is the epitome of awesome. Can't help but pray for the kid to have amazing success as it's too easy to tell that he will not take for granted the opportunities God provides for him.

Rooting for you, dude.
